Maybe metallica now wants to be a jam band?

Ha, a heavy metal jam band. Oh well, most of the people I play with just want to jam anyways.

Britton 11-22-2005 01:24 PM

Did you see this months guitar world?

PepsiMetal 11-22-2005 01:24 PM

Dudes, I'm listening to my world now, I don't get what's so bad about it. And please stop calling st. anger nu metal. If you think st. anger sounds like papa roach, then you didn't listen to st. anger. Drums are becoming better and better each time I hear it. Especially if you listen to it through a surround sound system, yea, it'll sound even better.

I never said it was nu metal. But anyway I really like it. I think it's better
then most anything else I heard that year.

Hey pepsi do you have live a folsom prison?

No, my subscription hasn't come in yet. Dammit, they said I could view the first issue for free, then pay for it. They lied to me.

Hey, check to see if they used happy's question in it.

It's a great issue. The best I've got so far. Kirk talks about how on the next album he's gonna have a 78 minute solo lars will have his snare rob will put in a bass line and James will scream over it all. It's really funny.

What was Happy's question?

Sounds like the new album will rock much harder that SA. Cool.

Happy's question was "why is lars such a greedy bastard?" I don't know exactly what he put but it was along those lines.

I was trying to get some tips from kirk about a great wah tone.

Britton 11-22-2005 01:37 PM

Darnit now I remember ya'll talking about that! I shoulda asked a question.
I don't think thet mentioned the wah but once.

He's incredible with the wah

Was it my question or somebody's elses?

I was trying to figure out how he gets that awesome trebly wah like on the Solo to Nothing Else Matters or Wherever I may roam.

Britton 11-22-2005 01:41 PM

Well it wasn't a question. I think he just says his favorite solo is from
WIMR he says something to the effect of the Black album being the first
album he abused the wah

PepsiMetal 11-22-2005 01:43 PM
Hey pepsi do you have live a folsom prison?
Nope. :upset:

I had few CDs on my pcs, but I formatted my pc like a month ago. Never had live at folsom prison though.

Britton 11-22-2005 01:44 PM

Darn. I've been writing lyrics for my band. So as a result I've been listening to lots of great song writers. I need some JC

PepsiMetal 11-22-2005 01:46 PM

You should download him and willie nelson at vh1. A little mini concert. Plus they talk in between songs about how they came up with them and such.

I think I've seen something like that on CMT. My mom loves country ( )

and that channel is on a lot. I did see a video or something to that like where they had JC WN and one other guy doing a big jam together. It was kinda cool actually.

Musicial taste is your own opinion, There will always be people who criticize In some way or another and Metallica will always have. To name a few

Doing a Video for One a fan came up to Jaymz and spat in his face saying 'You sold out, You made a video!.

Black Album even though it was Metallicas best selling Album and brought them world wide fame followed by loads of awards ect ect. Apparently they had completely sold out and left there Thrash Metal roots the band had changed.

Load & Reload New image, new hair cuts, new style. Metallica have died and gone from sellout to mainstream sellout. The band have left there Metal roots and gone hard rock alienating most of there hardcore fans.

Saint Anger Finally comes out fans had being pleaing with the band to go Metal again and that is what they actually it. But no 'Oh no its metal but its not thrash metal!. The band are slated again for poor production and departure of Jason and lack of Thrash Metal.

God Metallica have put up with some sh*t during there years thats not even half the stop I could have gone through not to mention stuff like Cliff and the Napster incident. Even though theres all these accusations and selfish comments always being pointed at them. What people seem to forget is Metallica make good music they have Inspired so many bands and musicians it would be impossible comprehend what they have done for the music industry not to mention one of the greatest live bands still around. I still have my dislikes with the Napster incident and the way Jason was treated over the years but I still respect them.

Metallica Forever! :thumb:

Sure, I'm probably about to YSI it for the daily upload maybe (it's about to be 20th anniversary of MoP)

Great post timmySmi! They didn't necessarily sell out, they just changed, like every band does. No band sounds the same on the first album as they do on the last or it would just be boring.
Load & Reload New image, new hair cuts, new style. Metallica have died and gone from sellout to mainstream sellout. The band have left there Metal roots and gone hard rock alienating most of there hardcore fans.
The makeup was pushing it. I don't mind the short hair because rock and metal MUSIC doesn't mean the people need long hair.

p.s. The music video AND the black album are awesome

I just watched on CMT Johnny Cash at San Quentin. Was pretty darn good. Plus they had some show about Johnny Cash vs. Music Row after the concert, so it was a pretty good night for CMT. Usually CMT plays some modern pop country.

nothingelsematters 11-23-2005 04:01 AM

my band is playing fade to black in a concert as a cover but we cant work out the riff behind the last solo, can any1 help me?

W.M.A 11-23-2005 04:26 AM

yeh you tell em timmy! ive never been a believer in the whole "set metal image." cos if it's a "set image" for a genre, isnt that conforming, which is apparently what rock n roll is againt, so changing there image was kind of a rock n roll thing to do.
its like bagging radiohead for ok computer and kid a.

It goes like this
----------------------5--2-----------

--------------------------------------
--------------------------------------

--2--------5--4--2-------------------
--3-------------------5--2-----------

-------------------------------------
-------------------------------------
-------------------------------------

--4--------5--4--2-------------------

Repeat many times.
That's how I play it and it sounds pretty dandy, on the record two guitars play the rhythm, but this sounds fine.

Jev 11-23-2005 10:32 AM
