cobert 01-11-2010 12:07 PM

This is the first time in months I've slept like a normal person. It feels great.

Iluvatar 01-11-2010 12:31 PM

i slept from 5am to 1pm today. felt good

Liebensaft 01-11-2010 01:23 PM

Class starts Wednesday, and the only one I have is chemistry lab at 1. Feels good man.

Mute Print 01-11-2010 02:08 PM

Classes started today. It was alright, except my accounting professor doesn't speak a word of English. :-\

I'm taking a "world music" class, which is actually a 20th century American music class. The woman teaching it is really into swing and early rock music, so she is having a bunch of guest lecturers talk about punk, hip-hop, etc. Should be cool.

Iluvatar 01-11-2010 02:12 PM

Definitely seems to fit that "world music" bill

Mute Print 01-11-2010 04:16 PM

Yeah, I was kind of surprised to look at the syllabus and see that the whole course focused on American music. False advertising, for sure.

Then we went around the room introducing ourselves and saying which artist, alive or dead, we would most like to tour with and why. Answers included:

Alter Bridge
Five Finger Death Punch
Trivium
Killswitch Engage
Jack White (x2)
Madonna
Lady Gaga (x2)
Jay-Z
Tupac
The Who
The Doors
Pink Floyd
Jeff Buckley
The Beatles
Dallas Green
Elvis
A.F.I. ("because they are all vegan and straight edge, so there wouldn't be any conflicts")

+some others I'm forgetting.

whitesquares 01-11-2010 04:22 PM

Dude, touring with The Beatles would be awful.

Screaming fans constantly assaulting the tour bus, they were total jerks to everyone, you couldn't hear yourself over the screaming fans, etc.

They also sucked live.

No thanks.

Also, ALTER BRIDGE?

Iluvatar 01-11-2010 05:52 PM

who did you pick to tour with?

Mute Print 01-11-2010 06:04 PM

Minor Threat

Gnarmageddon 01-11-2010 06:09 PM

black flag or minutemen all the way

Iluvatar 01-11-2010 06:12 PM

tom jones is the obvious answer

Aaron 01-11-2010 07:12 PM

Dallas Green is the best choice there.

iamrockzorz 01-11-2010 07:52 PM

Almost done with the EP! So psyched to finally get it over with. It's a little rough around the edges but I couldn't give a **** at this point. We're heading to do the Kinkos DIY thing in a little bit, making some cds, and should have tunes up on myspace so you can hear me groan. It turned out ridiculous, and I have no idea how to feel about it, but what the **** ever!

We got this gnarly Audio-Technica 7 piece drum mic set from guitar center for like $200 bucks, and did a four piece micing job on the drums into a cassette four track recorder and then just mixed it on garage band. The mics worked really well for guitar amps too. The clean tones at least. And an mtv karaoke mic for vocals. All this shitty equipment and it at least sounds audible. It makes me wonder what the **** people use to record those half-assed demoes that float around the interwebs. Jesus. Lo-fi or no-fi?

Aaron 01-11-2010 07:58 PM

I record a lot of my stuff with a mobile phone.

iamrockzorz 01-11-2010 08:05 PM

You're so DIY.

Aaron 01-11-2010 08:07 PM

Not really, I'm on a plan.
