Discovered Immortal tonight, and then went on a search for respectable USBM bands. Ended up adding a few to my collection:

Hmmm. There's a reason that song samples should never be offered in standardized 30-second increments, and should instead correlate to a percentage of the whole work's length. Krallice sounded a lot better in the Amazon samples than it does in whole form. Honestly, this, to me, sounds a lot like an attempt at black metal written by Brain Drill: largely meaningless guitar wanking that goes on far, far too long, and with very little differentiation between songs. Just nonstop riff cycling with a few exciting spots tossed in randomly to bait your hopes. But I really like Absu and Wolves in the Throne Room, so hey, that's good for something.

Was sorely disappointed with this. I mean, I was expecting by the books Darkthrone worship but that was one of the most boring albums ever.
