El Guincho- Alegranza

I tried to write this off as hipster garbage, and it probably is, but I don't care. Awesome.

Liebensaft 03-08-2009 08:26 PM

Yeah, that album's pretty cool. It's been sort of ruined for me from the start though, since I heard someone compare it to Spanish-speaking Panda Bear. That's just about exactly what it sounds like.

Happymeal 03-08-2009 09:07 PM

so, that Obits album. i didn't really expect a lot from it and i wasn't too disappointed. it's not too bad but it's obvious that Reis and Froberg need to get back together. i'll just wait for the next reunion band i guess.

i predict (no joke) Cymbals Eat Guitars will be the most massively hyped new band this year

Liebensaft 03-08-2009 10:09 PM

Yeah, fo' sho'. Definately dawg.

ATM 03-09-2009 06:19 PM

Yeah their live show is awesome. They played my school last semester with Double Dagger.

I might try and come to this and then go to The Drones and Deleted Scenes at Black Cat.
Prefuse 73
Eh, Prefuse has got a distinct sound, but it's so boring after a while. Lib and Lotus are sick though.

New Decemberists might just be the best thing they've ever done, they've finally learned to hold back.

Also,

Dan Deacon - Bromst
Neko Case - Middle Cyclone

Liebensaft 03-11-2009 12:52 PM
They're excellent live.

Tar Babies- Fried Milk
Yeah I was surprised how good they were. Their singer was absolutely ridiculous. He was spitting all over himself, licking his armpits, jumping in the crowd and yelling, climbing speakers and humping them, pouring beer down his pants, and generally being insane.

Anxious 03-12-2009 03:34 PM

When I saw them he was just writhing about like Iggy Pop, but I've heard of the other antics he participates in.

Interstate 03-12-2009 04:49 PM

Stevie Wonder - Innervisions
