CD's that are definately worth buying, I buy. Some I just download them. But I still help out the fellow band.
Thanks anyways but I've steal got it on my computer luckily.

EDIT:^Hah, one of the funniest typos I've done in a while.

I have this weird neurosis where I have to own the CD not just have it burned or on computer..that is a very expensive neurosis. My friends think I'm crazy for not just downloading.
I have the same problem. It makes no sense with an ipod but I just like to own a copy. Nice typo.

Glitterati 08-24-2005 08:07 PM

Same here. I like buying CDs occasionally. It's a bit of a hobby, really.

angusmaster 08-24-2005 08:09 PM

I download songs of bands that i dont like enough to buy a cd ( except metallica , my parents wont let me buy a cd of them ) , but i like to buy cds better.

Walrus Gumboot 08-24-2005 08:09 PM

I like to buy them when I'm upset or something. there is really nothing like a new Grateful Dead* album. It's just not the same if you download it

*Band may vary with user.

What do your parents have against Metallica? Although I totally agree with them notletting you buy their CDs.

JonG 08-24-2005 08:18 PM

Metallica are a faster AC/DC without as many power chords.

And a different/whiney voice.

White_heat 08-24-2005 08:19 PM

I like buying cds for some reason..... i guess im just a victim of consumerism

Glitterati 08-24-2005 08:20 PM

MEGADETH homes,

metallica is a limp wiener next to any REAL thrash metal. And your parents probably wont care. If they do, then they're gayer than i thought and you should run away. :}

To stay on topic:

I believe Led-Zeppelin is the greatest band of all time. Opinion. To whoever said that teens should listen to the lesser-known classic rock bands, i listen to some, but i listen to the ones i like. Nobody has mentioned Foghat.

MBS 08-24-2005 08:25 PM
We're in this together, squirt.
 Seriously, I laughed out loud in real life.

For some reason, that made me laugh a lot.

To make this post CR related, I'm uploading more ELO for your listening pleasure.

This time, it's Turn to Stone, another great song, cheesy, but isn't all ELO?

Upload will be up in about 5 minutes.
Nobody has mentioned Foghat.
SLOW RIDE!! TAKE IT EASY!!

/mention'd

I thought AC/DC used a lot of open chords.

thickasabrick 08-24-2005 08:27 PM

I downloaded quite a few albums, I've probably got like 20 or so on my computer. Although if I download an album that I like, I'll go buy it. I'll usually go buy it on vinyl...and if I reeeeeaaally like it...I'll buy the CD.

BludgeonySteve 08-24-2005 08:30 PM
I thought AC/DC used a lot of open chords.
Yep. Mostly open major chords, really. Metallica uses far more power chords.

Broken Arrow 08-24-2005 08:36 PM

spelling cool with a "k"=not cool

Youre right though that was a stupid thing for him to say.

Anyways, nugs got a new crop of bootlegs for download since I was last there.

So much Phish,

BludgeonySteve 08-24-2005 08:38 PM

Phish must have the most bootlegs ever. Them or Bob Dylan.

Glitterati 08-24-2005 08:40 PM

I'm nopt sure if he's considered Classic Rock, (probably not), but Stevie Wonder is ridiculously awesome.

Lunch 08-24-2005 08:40 PM

Awesome, a new set of Dead bootlegs too.

Jam2Me 08-24-2005 08:40 PM
Phish must have the most bootlegs ever. Them or Bob Dylan.
Grateful Dead is up there.

Broken Arrow 08-24-2005 08:41 PM

Its funny how you didn't even bring up the Dead.

They have over 2000 that I know of.

BludgeonySteve 08-24-2005 08:42 PM

Well if you want to make a big ****ing list of artists with a ****load of bootlegs, go right ahead

(seriously, do it. it would be coo. Something to talk about)

Way to stand up for what you beleive in!

Do you know whats something I should have asked you guys a long time ago?! How do you enjoy listening to your music? Really loud? Really quiet? Medium? Do you sing along? Air guitar? Try to imitate instruments? Tap your feet?

I'm a feet tapping, sing-along, air guitar, mimick any noises, likes it loud kind of guy. Just to let you know.

edit- and when no ones around......I DANCE! :naughty:

Use wisely.

2606 Grateful Dead bootlegs for download.

Lunch 08-24-2005 08:46 PM

For some reason when I click on a song to download on Nugs, it takes me to playing that song instead of downloading it.

I tend to sit and slightly nod my head to the heavier stuff and if it's softer I just sit. Yep, it may look like I don't care, but inside my head i'm dancing my *** off.

Is the show up for download?

Did you see the above link?

It has so many shows, it also has so NewRiders of the Purple Sage bootlegs and a couple John Cipollina.

Jam2Me 08-24-2005 08:53 PM

I crank music and if the singer has a pretty normal voice I sing a long at the top of my lungs. I air guitar once in a while.

I find myself dancing at concerts a lot probably because I'm baked. Hippy chicks always wanna dance.

I'm scared of new sites.

What I do when I listen to music depends on my mood and the type of music. When listening to Live at Leeds for example, I tend to have it really loud and air-guitar and air-drum along with it. With softer music I pretty much just chill to it. I never sing along.

jpj 08-24-2005 09:00 PM

I'm downloading moe.'s set from the Allmans show in Pittsburgh :D

I can't find any of the Allmans though :(

thunderzstruck 08-24-2005 09:58 PM
Ok, I was listening to Yessongs, and I was thinking about how live songs can generally be longer than the studio version due to improvisation.

Then I realized the vocal parts are the same, and the instruments are what improvise and make the song longer. Like there'll be an extra few bars for the solo, but never for the verse.

Have you guys ever heard a live song where the vocalist will make up lyrics on the spot and use those to improvise rather than instruments? Maybe I'm thinking too hard.
rap battles...

Jacaranda 08-24-2005 10:28 PM

Whatever happened to Ray Davies of the Kinks? Did he die or is he just not making music?

BludgeonySteve 08-24-2005 10:33 PM

I dunno. He was cool. The kinks were cool. Saying the word cool is cool.
