I played one once, along with a 12 string guitar.

Man, my hands are too small for a normal guitar.
I played a 12-string guitar before. Sounded really nice, a lot louder than a normal acoustic.

I've played a mandalin too.

Only part I read.

Fat Mike was pretty stupid in that video. It wasn't even funny. :-\

masada 08-02-2006 01:41 PM

mandolin is hard to play

twelve strings are cool becuase you have an extra 6 string to tune differently
I get pretty over zealous with such things since it's what I do in radio. :o

Plus Pro Tools allows you to do so much more than audacity.
Well this is my first time (as you can probably tell) so I just wanted it to be basic.

edit: I'm out guys, be back later.

I've used Audacity once and I hated it. Pro Tools on the other hand, is one of the best audio recording software in the world. I'm buying it with an MBOX for my Mac for my birthday.

And I think Fat Mike wasn't trying to be funny in that video. I mean, I know he's there to piss people off, but I don't think he said anything too offensive. He said his opinions, they said theirs.

masada 08-02-2006 01:44 PM

yeah fat mike is okay, he probably has intentions in the right place usually

but he comes off as a fat prick sometimes lololol

oh and he looks like one of the bradys

Angry Balled Fists! 08-02-2006 01:44 PM

i just love fat mike.

Pro Tools is lovely. I could sit in the production studio on the G5 all day if I could some days.

AZNMan#2 08-02-2006 01:45 PM

Fat Mike is a great songwriter.

Psh, you guys and your Macs. :p

masada 08-02-2006 01:46 PM

of course he is i mean come on

I've used it for like 6 hours on end before, just recording one song, messing around with the plug-ins and stuff. It's good for practice for me, since audio production is a career I want to pursue. I can't wait to get it for my Macbook Pro now though.

In other news, Street Fighter is on five. This movie is funny haha.
can you tune an autoharp?
If someone told me the notes, yes.
oh man, stfu

You play 6 strings? Those look way too big for my liking.
I've played a bunch of them. I don't own one...yet.

Haha, 6 strings look really funny. Not as bad as 7s though.

I think a 5er with 24 frets would do me fine.

What do you think about fretlesses?

masada 08-02-2006 02:05 PM

i have an electric autoharp it's hella sweet

I've played 4s, 5s, 6sw, 7s, 9s, 12s, and I played one 16 string once.

I have a 5 string with 24 frets. I'm buying a 6 string with 24 frets once I stop being poor.

I like fretlesses but not enough to own one. I like 'em and all but they're really only for people who play in jazz bands. I just prefer the fretted sound in jazz bands.

I've played bunches of fretless basses. My favorite is my friend Phil's (The user Left Shoe's).. It's a Yamaha TRB 6II fretless. It r00lz.

Chilly-Bean-Bop 08-02-2006 02:18 PM

Justin, I need help again lawlz.

I need to download LAME, so I downloaded it, unzipped it and it won't let me add it anywhere.

masada 08-02-2006 02:19 PM

i know all about lame

Chilly-Bean-Bop 08-02-2006 02:22 PM

shit, he left.

Kif 08-02-2006 02:33 PM

LAME is just the codec which encodes the MP3 file. In options, there should be an option to find the LAME.exe file so it knows where it is.

Chilly-Bean-Bop 08-02-2006 02:43 PM

I extracted it to my desktop, found it when I tried to export it, but it didn't work.

What is LAME exactly?

Chilly-Bean-Bop 08-02-2006 02:48 PM

Mp3 thing.

Like, I use LAME to export my podcast as an mp3. But it's not working for me.

AZNMan#2 08-02-2006 02:50 PM

Chilly-Bean-Bop 08-02-2006 02:51 PM
