Eagan, its a southern suburb of St. Paul/Minneapolis. I don't recall where Worthington is, but I'd guess its in the NW part of the state.

Did you listen to my medley I posted? I know you already heard the 1776.

Ahh, I missed it, my bad. Today I'm gonna do one like yours, just improv playing. Then I'll post it tomorrow night.

Do it! But don't enter it into the bad compo :(

Hey cj remember when i said that whole thing about smashing my guitar and what was the other part? oh yeah...

FUCK

i dont wanna play anymore :upset:

btw that was pretty sweet Ramsey

Ramsey 03-10-2005 02:44 AM

Lol, thanks. But I hardly make the cut compared to some of the other guitarists who visit this forum.

ArcLite 03-10-2005 02:44 AM

Yeah, I'll try to make it decent. I can't rip my axe up like you do but I'll try to show off what little skill I have.

Pete-You took the word right out of my mouth...

\m/Pete\m/ 03-10-2005 02:48 AM

i can tremelo like a mother most the time, but not as good anymore, just getting over tendonitis in my right arm. Its weird because it never used to hurt and then one day it was like "OW...OOOH NO" and now my left arm is starting to hurt :upset:

but my special trick are trem pickin, pinch harm. and tapping

Hey man, you have skill. I can't play in time at all. Also that medley was original and awesome. I bet if you had better recording materials you could become a great writer.

All I have is speed. And thats not very much..

ArcLite 03-10-2005 02:51 AM

I'm a huge fan of PH's, I completely overuse them when I'm just noodling around. Tapping, I like and can do, but I'm not that good at it. Same with trem picking. Sucks about the tendonitus.

\m/Pete\m/ 03-10-2005 02:53 AM

how long you all been playing? Any lessons at all?

Ive been playing guitar for about 1 & 1/2 years almost two, but i REALLY started to hammer on (no pun) about 5 months ago

Ramsey 03-10-2005 02:53 AM

Yes, I love pinch harmonics. As you can hear in my recording, I really whore themout.

\m/Pete\m/ 03-10-2005 02:55 AM

and rightfully so...probably one of the coolest things ever aside from a wah pedal
at least your not up yourself, i cant stand guitarists who think they are gods and criticize everything
Nah man. I don't think i'm anywhere near good. Yeah, i'm clean, and i have dexterity. When it comes to playing in time and in song writing, I have huge weaknessess.
Nah man. I don't think i'm anywhere near good. Yeah, i'm clean, and i have dexterity. When it comes to playing in time and in song writing, I have huge weaknessess.
i find it hard to play in time sometimes too, but im not too much of a guitarist, lousy improviser and no where near as fast as others.

\m/Pete\m/ 03-10-2005 02:59 AM

i need to get a little 8 track so i can record some of the riffs that i just noodle up.

Ramesy thats what i liked best about your post is because it was clean as i'll get at, im no where near as clean as you are. I guess that my strong points are kind of your weaknesses...weird

opeth_oasis 03-10-2005 03:01 AM

ramsey, whats the hardest thing you can play?

ArcLite 03-10-2005 03:04 AM

Pete, I've been playing for 5.5 years, took lessons for four, yet I play at the skill of someone who's played for 2 years and never took lessons.

Lets trade :( I would because I want song writing skills :(
ramsey, whats the hardest thing you can play?
Heh, not much. I mean, I can play the Dream Theater - Glass Prison arepggios, but just barely. They sound sloppy and crappy. I can also play *some* (very little) of Technical Difficulties- By Racer X. Hmm, another couple things I can play are the Serrana Arpeggios by Jason Becker, and Paganinis Fifth caprice.

MInd you, all this sounds CRAP when I play it. I'm no good at arps (hence why you hardly hear me playing them). So yeah.

ive played for about 1 year and a half, i think i do ok for the amount of time i've been playing, i can play most iron maiden solos and have mastered pinch harmonics (though it took me ages to accomplish for some reason). I find the most pleasure playing good acoustic lines though

ThrashMaster27 03-10-2005 03:10 AM

Speaking of Racer X... Does anyone have the Street Lethal album? and! is it recommended? I have Superheroes, which I like a lot.

Haha, the Superheroes cover is so amazingly cheesy.

I'll trade that for your accuracy.

I think the hardest thing i can play is probably the solo from Walk which i have only done 100% accurate ONCE...havent been able to do it since.

ITs awesome. I love Gilbert. He is very unconventional in which, he isn't very strict like Vai, hes more of a Van Halen Eruption type shredder :)

I bet that would sound awesome with guitar.

ThrashMaster27 03-10-2005 03:20 AM

Yeah, I've heard one of his solo albums at a friends house. From what I remember, I was very impressed. I love the instumentals on Superheroes. Viking Kong and King of the Monsters are class.
