[QUOTE=Jaundice;17378790]I've always wanted to make a noise track

its about the least difficult music you could make really

Jaundice 07-20-2009 04:56 PM

Making a noise track in general could be potentially the easiest thing ever

But to actually do it with style and make it sound interesting should be really difficult. Noise has a tendency to be constantly changing without actually settling on any motif or hook for very long, which requires continuing to write instead of just coming up with a beat to repeat over and over.

Not to mention, in the process of writing a noise song, I'd probably have to resist atleast ten or fifteen tempting opportunities to bring in 8bit synths and big poppy melodies.

Initiation 07-20-2009 04:58 PM

My dinner consisted of:

- Homemade Biscuits
- Homemade Mac & Cheese
- Stuffed Peppers
- Home Grown Field Peas

I think I'm gonna explode.

Meatplow 07-20-2009 04:59 PM

i wasn't talking about making good noise music ;)

but srsly, all you need is any synthesiser plug-in and some granulator filters and you can make a 40 minute long track of pure repetition without paying any thought to keeping stuff in key or in order and somebody will like it.

Jaundice 07-20-2009 05:02 PM

What exactly is a granulator filter? Is that the thing for chopping up and processing samples, or something else?

Moon Flavor 07-20-2009 05:02 PM

yeah i hate noise why do people listen to it so much

Jaundice 07-20-2009 05:03 PM

It's intellectually stimulating and danceable
