Yeah, a lot of hippyish things are becoming popular again, like hackey sack. I try not to conform to sterytypes of what genre am I, but I am a hippie. I had long hair (cut against my will, and is growing it out again), I have a few tie dies, not because there tie die, just because I thought the shirt kicked ass, and the other shirts I have feature a band from the 60's or 70's. I think along the lines of peacefullness that all hippies belive in (the only quality any hippie needs), and well yeah the drug thing too. Though no hackey sack for me.

lunch998 04-30-2005 10:20 PM

There are a few hippies at my school and a fair amount of stoners, but I don't really hang out with them.

Badmoon 04-30-2005 10:33 PM

I hate the whole "hippie" thing these days, in most cases. It becomes a look, heavily.

JonG 04-30-2005 10:35 PM

I'm the only Classic Rock head bigtime in my grade. But I go to an all 9th grade school. I wish their were more. My dads the only person I know :\

Illmatic 04-30-2005 10:36 PM

I hate hippies, period.

I don't mind the music, but I hate hippies.

Badmoon 04-30-2005 10:48 PM

Wait...my avatar owns.

Glitterati 04-30-2005 11:08 PM

It just seems people these days are hippies just to be a stoner....not for the awesome 1960's San Fransisco music scene:angry:

Leper 05-01-2005 12:10 AM

Ya the hippy look is becomin really trendy lol. Whatever, there are a hell of a lot worse trends that could start up. Pretty much the only hippy in me is that i have somewhat long hair, play guitar, and wear t shirts of bands mostly from the 60's and 70's. lol no hacky sack for me either tho, i wish i was co-ordinated enough haha.

Glitterati 05-01-2005 12:14 AM

Can I ask what the appeal of hackey-sack is?

It's a great way to kill time.

wanton 05-01-2005 10:32 AM

Badmoon. can you post some Tony Rice?

Blackberry Blossom is awesome and I want to hear more.

Badmoon 05-01-2005 10:37 AM

It would take a lot of time. I have it on Itunes, so I would have to burn it on to a disc, and then upload it, and then upload it again on yousendit.com.

Maybe later
Can I ask what the appeal of hackey-sack is?
I think it's just like getting a good volley in ping-pong or volleyball. You try and keep it going for as long a you can, except you can do it with 1 person through almost any number of people you want.

Well unless I am mistaken, it was a game that was started by hippies because they wanted a non competitive game to play were no score was kept, and it was just suppose to be fun. It has lost the old meaning it had today though because many people are highly competitve with it.

That's exactly why I started playing it. I just wanted to find a pastime that I can do with other people, that isn't really competative. Every other sport I play (or have played) has been way too competative for my liking...I'm not a very competative guy. It's the only sport where me and my friends can just chill out and have fun in a park playing hacky sack, it doesn't turn into like a huge tournament and all that crap with rules and stuff.

Broken Arrow 05-01-2005 01:52 PM

What about frisbee? Now there's a game.

Ultimate Frisbee is awesome. I haven't played in awhile though.

regular frisbee is excellent too.
What about frisbee? Now there's a game.
I enjoy throwing a frisbee around, although everyone always wants to make teams, and turn it into a ferocious game. It's fun just to stand in a big circle and throw frisbees though. Once you start having to run and use strategies, that's when I go sit on the sidelines.

edit- If you guys were gonna make one of those like "Important Years in Music" or whatever they are called (that Meds doing), which year would you choose? He already took '67, which is probably my favourite year.

Hell yea it is, and meh it will replace hackey sack when the characters on the OC start playing it on the show.

lunch998 05-01-2005 02:00 PM

I might want to do a 1969 one, but it's unlikely I'll be able to do it before next weekend so someone will probably have done it by then.

'67 was my favourite year.

'69 is second best, or maybe '68?

Yeah Frisbee is fun to throw around in your yard, a park or the beach but when people atart playing that ultimate frisbee it isn't fun anymore.

jpj 05-01-2005 02:03 PM
