I have heard it can take ages and ages to get a remotely pleasant bow tone.
It helps to have a good teacher, and a good bow as well :p

Polyamarous 03-20-2007 03:56 PM

Sure, but Ben was asking if he could teach himself the basics.
Which is nigh on impossible.

TimJim 03-20-2007 03:57 PM

indeed^

i tried once :upset:

I was just talking about the Bow tone...

Akira 03-20-2007 03:58 PM

Well if you have a painful tone the left hand doesn't matter.

pukeboy66 03-20-2007 03:59 PM

Sure, But it's not like it's impossible to craft a bearable tone.

Akira 03-20-2007 04:05 PM

But without any instruction it seems like it would be pretty hard. It is possible to teach yourself upright, that doesn't change the fact that with a teacher you are a lot less likely to kill your wrist.

Tryxx 03-20-2007 04:07 PM
You *still* have the Mod?
Yeah. I sort of decided to keep it, pain and all. At least until I find or build myself something better.
Damn you Texas.
Damn it, indeed.

I just put one of my workbenches together... time for round two. It's a pain in the *** in this heat.

TimJim 03-20-2007 04:08 PM

tryxx:

did you see my rep comment?

I'm not going to say that a teacher isn't a smart idea. I'm just saying it is possible to get along without one. It would certainly go alot smoother with one though.

On another note, am I counting wrong or is Birdland in 3/4?

Ting 03-20-2007 04:21 PM

It's in 4/4 is it not?

TimJim 03-20-2007 04:22 PM

i think it is^

pukeboy66 03-20-2007 04:23 PM
It's in 4/4 is it not?
It sounded like it could've been in 3/4 to me. *shrug*

Ting 03-20-2007 04:24 PM

I guess the beginning has a weird feel

pukeboy66 03-20-2007 04:26 PM
I guess the beginning has a weird feel
Yeah the beginning's what got me.

thelowsoundofbass 03-20-2007 04:40 PM

Isn't it mostly triplets in 4/4? Or is that teen town?

lowsound

pukeboy66 03-20-2007 04:53 PM

I think that's Teen Town.

Ting 03-20-2007 04:55 PM

In my civics class we have to make a political party and my partner and I made the PFM party. (Pure Fucking Metal Party...yes only as a joke, the class is stupid anyways) and our slogan is: "Music is like a box of chocolates, you get rid of the wrappers"

BenJammin 03-20-2007 05:16 PM

Pffbt. Ya'll have no faith in my musical ability.

Efrim 03-20-2007 05:18 PM

Hey team

Efrim 03-20-2007 05:24 PM
Hey Jesse!!! What's up?!?!?
Oh nothing much, you guys?

User Name 03-20-2007 05:24 PM

I'm so bored.

BenJammin 03-20-2007 05:24 PM

With this post, I sadly take the lead.

Efrim 03-20-2007 05:27 PM

You win the internet, I guess.

Efrim 03-20-2007 05:32 PM

In an effort to spark conversation, I'm going to post again:

Anyone else dig tea?

User Name 03-20-2007 05:36 PM

I was thinking about getting into it. I should really get some.

The beverage? If so, very much.

Efrim 03-20-2007 05:38 PM
I was thinking about getting into it. I should really get some.
You definitely should. You look really cool, like smoking a cigarette.

Or so I'm told.

Spaceman Spiff 03-20-2007 05:38 PM

Tea is all right, but I've never seen the big deal. I do enjoy it from time to time, though.

Efrim 03-20-2007 05:39 PM
The beverage? If so, very much.
I thought "tea" as marijuana slang went out in the 50s...

One Groovin Clown 03-20-2007 05:42 PM

I think it's ranking up there with A link To the Past.

I always read 'TP' and think toilet paper.
I always read 'TP' and think toilet paper.
I still think it is, and I'm waiting for someone to give me the real meaning.

One Groovin Clown 03-20-2007 05:47 PM

Twilight Princess.

Efrim 03-20-2007 05:49 PM
Twilight Princess.
One Groovin Clown 03-20-2007 05:54 PM

lawl, Apparently Hoppus used a 5 string tuned EEADG for Carousel.

Dumb kids.

Trevo 03-20-2007 06:01 PM

Well, I was wrong, I got one vote.

Efrim 03-20-2007 06:09 PM
Well, I was wrong, I got one vote.
You deserved it. I ought to vote, but I have yet to listen to the other songs, and my downloading packets are all but used up.
tomorrow though...

Trevo 03-20-2007 06:11 PM

I know, next time I hope to use a guitar, but I don't own any drums. If I'm really lucky, I'll move up to League 2.

One Groovin Clown 03-20-2007 06:17 PM

Leagues are for suckers.
