Im getting alot of negative comments from friends about the Born Again album cover. What do you guys think of it?

ToRidTheDisease 04-30-2005 07:54 AM
Can't remember their name but awhile ago someone posted a link to an australian sabbath tribute band (you could hear their versions of NIB, paranoid and iron man)

Anyone that listens to sonata arctica ever noticed that the end of 'victoria's secret' sounds alot like the end of 'behind the wall of sleep'?
I noticed that as well.

Worst.Albumcover.Ever.

It was designed to look like aload of crap by Don Arden, because at the time he & Sabbath weren't getting along very well.

Oddly enough, Tony loved the cover.

I think it looks crap, there was an article about it on black-sabbath.com.

It basically said what Brum just said.

There are worse album covers in the world, and most of them can be seen here: http://www.cenedella.com/stone/archives/000302.html

Otherwise, it's pretty much rock bottom.

shadow_stalker 05-02-2005 03:14 AM

Those album covers made me laugh...well some of them

rippa32 05-02-2005 06:24 AM

I dont see whats wrong with the Born Again cover. What dont you guys like about it?

Brew 05-02-2005 07:38 AM

I don't mind it, there's alot worse ones out there.

shadow_stalker 05-02-2005 11:27 AM

I think it just looks stupid.

Six Foot Revolver 05-02-2005 02:11 PM

It is a very weird cover

shadow_stalker 05-02-2005 02:27 PM

Looking like the smug git that he is.

AA-12 05-02-2005 03:42 PM

The Born Again cover is quite, well, unlikeable.

here comes the bird flu 05-02-2005 03:44 PM
I like 'War Pigs' a lot. The more I've listened to Black Sabbath lately, I've noticed that they sound a lot like Led Zeppelin. Has anyone ever noticed that or am I crazy?

Monti

your crazy...
rippa32 05-03-2005 06:07 AM

Does anyone know what amps Iommi uses in the ozzy era?

shadow_stalker 05-03-2005 09:20 AM

Not sure i think it starts with a 'P', at least in some very early live videos im sure it does.

Brew 05-03-2005 11:57 AM
Does anyone know what amps Iommi uses in the ozzy era?
I know that Geezer uses Laney amps.

rippa32 05-04-2005 05:38 AM

Well I knew that Iommi used Laney at some point and Marshalls at another but I really have no idea what he usedin the ozzy era.

rippa32 05-06-2005 03:54 AM

Well not much is happening in this thread. Ill set things off by starting a little trivia.
What year did Ozzy first leave Black Sabbath?

Brew 05-06-2005 09:45 AM

1977.

Replaced by Dave Walker (I think thats his name)

Came back in 1978.

Released Never Say Die!

Finally kicked out in late 1978/early 1979.

shadow_stalker 05-06-2005 10:30 AM

Damnit beaten to it (probably by a long way).

didn't they scrap all the work they did with him because ozzy refused to sing it.

Jimi Haze 05-06-2005 11:06 AM

Anyone going to see them at Download?
I am :D With backstage V.I.P tickets so I'll be meeting them hehe :p

shadow_stalker 05-06-2005 11:28 AM

...i hate you, you lucky bastard

Brew 05-06-2005 11:49 AM

Transport me back to 1973 then I'd be really jealous of you.

shadow_stalker 05-06-2005 11:51 AM

lol, why 73?

hwy your postcount says 73 at the end of it.

Brew 05-06-2005 04:28 PM

1973 = Vol.4 tour, when the Sabbath MK 1 line-up were at their best.

AA-12 05-06-2005 04:29 PM

Mk 1?

Brew 05-06-2005 04:34 PM

*sigh*

Mk 1 Black Sabbath = Ozzy/Geezer/Iommi/Bill
Mk 2 = Dio/Geezer/Iommi/Bill
Mk 3 = Dio/Geezer/Iommi/Vinny

etc...

There have been roughly 40 different Black Sabbath line-ups.

Actually they only wrote a couple of songs with him and I think Ozzy sang it, I can't quite remember.

EDIT: It was juniors eyes and the lyrics are different on ozzy's version.

metallica fan 05-07-2005 04:22 AM

you know that coke download thing, very good quality songs. How come they dont have any early black sabbath stuff?

rippa32 05-07-2005 04:55 AM

What coke download thing?

shadow_stalker 05-07-2005 06:35 AM
1973 = Vol.4 tour, when the Sabbath MK 1 line-up were at their best.
ah right, i see...

I think that you can download music with coca-cola now so that must be what he ment (that was to rippa)

They actually wrote an entire albums worth of material, and played an early version of Juniors Eyes on TV with Dave.

When Ozzy came back he didn't want to use any of the stuff that had been written, so they wrote what we now know as Never Say Die!

rippa32 05-11-2005 03:45 AM

shadow_stalker 05-11-2005 04:33 AM
