Wow, yeah.

Also, I cannot stand !!!. Everything from the name to the sound of the music.

RetiredAt21 12-10-2006 02:48 PM

Tegan And Sara really get on my nerves. So does Le Tigre. Ick.

AIRIC 12-10-2006 02:50 PM

Probably because both bands are girl bands. Girls will like them no matter how horrible the music is and guys will rightfully hate them.

Tegan & Sara is a ****ing pain to listen to. Same goes for Le Tigre. I really can't stand them, yuck. Everyone tells me that "Decepticon" or some s'hit is the best Le Tigre song... if this is a common opinion, I really feel bad for their other work. Since we're on the topic of chick bands that we dislike, isn't Bikini Kill a chick band? They're gawd awful either way.

AIRIC 12-10-2006 06:33 PM

I'm not being sexist but seriously unless it's a woman in a crust band women make horrible music.

Tsunami Bomb? They must've been joking.

RetiredAt21 12-10-2006 06:33 PM

Decepticon is their most annoying song, actually.

And yes, Bikini Kill is a check band, and yes they suck.

RetiredAt21 12-10-2006 06:34 PM

It is not the most pretentious genre ever, maybe from the vibe most people get about on the internet, then yes, but in person every person I've talked to who is into that scene have been nothing but nice. Indie on the otherhand guys will be dicks constantly about it, most of my friends listen to that stuff so I experience that kind of discussion on a daily basis.

AIRIC 12-10-2006 06:36 PM

Yeah they are horrible. I'm trying to think of other bands with female vox but none are coming to mind.

X-Ray Spex?

Aus Rotten 12-10-2006 06:41 PM

I don't know of any other all chick bands... or my mind is just drawing a blank now.

DaveToopes 12-10-2006 06:47 PM

Pvussycat Dolls

RetiredAt21 12-10-2006 07:51 PM

Straight Edge Kegger have a girl singer, but I think they are pretty good.

RetiredAt21 12-10-2006 07:55 PM

Walls Of Jericho.

*barf*

AIRIC 12-10-2006 08:00 PM

Haha I've never heard either band.

Spence you probably love Tsunami Bomb though don't you you pop punk homo.

Shut up.

The Epoxies, The Soviettes, and Trinity, too. I like all I mentioned except Walls of Jericho.

AIRIC 12-11-2006 01:08 PM

Oh yeah the Epoxies. They were bad live but mostly because they would not turn off the fucking bubbles.

ridiculous justin.

whiteminority 12-11-2006 01:42 PM

Justin and me used to be the only people that would post in here, and he would reply with different messages to the same message someone made.

Subvert_bassist 12-11-2006 02:08 PM

HAHA I love how this thread has become nothing more than a place to talk **** about bands and people we all collectively hate.

I like the Interpol album "Turn Off The Bright Lights", but other than that, I avoid indie.

_Mote_ 12-11-2006 03:50 PM

I hate Interpol, but love lots of Indie.

Care.

AIRIC 12-12-2006 01:52 PM

Is there a different vocalist on From Enslavement To Obliteration from Scum

whiteminority 12-12-2006 02:37 PM

Yes and no.

The A side of Scum is Nic Bullen, the B side is Lee Dorrian who was also vox on FETO.

Nerdcore753 12-12-2006 09:47 PM

It's funny how, except for the drummer, the band is different for each side.

whiteminority 12-13-2006 02:35 PM

The A side was recorded as a demo in like '85 and the band went on hiatus then Mick Harris reformed it and they recorded Scum.

AIRIC 12-13-2006 03:17 PM

I'm not sure which album I like better. Probably Scum

Anyone like Carcass?

RetiredAt21 12-13-2006 05:04 PM

I love Carcass. I like their death metal stuff just as much as I like the grind stuff.

whiteminority 12-14-2006 01:39 PM

Yeah, they rule. Heartwork is probaly my favorite even though I in general like their grind more.

RetiredAt21 12-14-2006 01:40 PM

Heartwork is great. I almost like it more than Wake Up And Smell The Carcass.

Subvert_bassist 12-15-2006 12:03 AM

HAHA, dude, you went so long with no avatar, then one random *** day, you get that one. LOL

Now that everyone's had time to really soak in the new Kylesa album, any thoughts? I say it's good, but a slight step down from some previous releases (*cough*To Walk A Middle Course*cough*).

Excursions 12-15-2006 12:37 AM

Any of you people like Fear of God? I don't know what you gice are into but this band makes Napalm Death sound like The Wiggles. They were around in the mid to late 1980s making some pretty intense music and helping to start what would later be known as grind. Their vocalist actually runs an mp3 blog for out of print hardcore at http://goodbadmusic.blogspot.com/ which is a pretty good site. If you go back a few pages he posts a few of his bands mp3s, I think you should check it out at least if you're into grind, even if you don't like it.

It'd be hard for them to top To Walk A Middle Course imo.

Gnarmageddon 12-15-2006 11:13 AM

I still need to snag both Kylesa albums from someone.

AIRIC 12-15-2006 11:52 PM

I'm into the new album way more but it's probably because I've listened to that the most.

So yeah I think the new album is great. They have a unique sound.

whiteminority 12-16-2006 12:10 AM

HOORAY ALCOHOL.

I'm drunk.

RetiredAt21 12-16-2006 09:57 AM

Speaking of alcohol, I made a bad decision and ate 2 mg. of Xanax and drank a couple beers. I cannot remember ANYTHING. Bad idea kids.

In grind news, I've been listening to a whole lot of old Phobia lately. I love this s'hit.

whiteminority 12-16-2006 10:19 AM

Great night last night, went over to hang out with my buddys for a bit and then Alex and Thomas pull out a handle of Cap Morgan's. Needless to say much awesomeness of drunkeness took place.

I finally checked out Kylesa. HOLY FUCK.
