They already said if they can't continue to diversify their music then they won't continue to make music.

Jev 01-16-2009 05:16 AM

Got my tickets for the Underworld gig :D

alytee123 01-16-2009 09:04 AM

See ya there :P

DJTeeLay 01-16-2009 09:34 PM

Protest the Hero is amazing.

I even adore their "Search for Truth" stuff.
I think Rody's vocals get better with every album (by a long shot).

a lot of bands could learn a thing or two from that

Jev 01-17-2009 07:22 AM

AC/DC please learn.

alytee123 01-17-2009 07:27 AM

I remember reading an announcement from a band some time last year that they had decided to not release an album they had been working on because they felt it didn't reach their expectations or previous releases, anyone got any idea what band I'm talking about cause I cant remember.

Jev 01-17-2009 07:29 AM

I dunno, could be Muse because they aren't realeasing anything until they feel their ready and its good enough.

alytee123 01-17-2009 07:38 AM

Nah I think it was some prog band, or a death metal band, cant for like the life of me remember.

The Feeding 01-17-2009 10:33 AM

the faceless? maybe they shouldn't have released Planetary Duality...

alytee123 01-17-2009 10:59 AM

Well no because The Faceless did release an album, im talking about a band who decided to not release their album.

The Feeding 01-17-2009 11:04 AM

sarcasm... Basically wait until the album is good enough to be released instead of halfway done...i mean there were like 6 actual songs on there...Akeldama was amazing

alytee123 01-17-2009 11:21 AM

True dat, Akeldama is awesome, though I still enjoy Planetary Duality.

interviewer02 01-17-2009 11:33 AM
have you even heard their other releases?
I own Kezia, and don't really like it.

I really don't think they're going to go past Fortress and raise the bar higher, I think that will be their peak album.

The Feeding 01-18-2009 04:18 PM

i can see that, that album is freaking amazing! sometimes it's just hard to keep progressing so you just have to write solid enough material to keep listeners interested. Another band that will have issues is BTBAM..i doubt they can do anything to top Colors, but i could be wrong

Dimmu Burger 01-18-2009 04:20 PM

Yeah I'm curious to see what BTBAM does next.

The Feeding 01-18-2009 04:28 PM

i'm almost afriaid. The differences between Alaska and Colors i don't know what they could possibly do next...i'm guessing more prog metal based, which is kinda sad i like their straight up metal jams such as The Primer i'm not knocking how they go everywhere with the songs i'm just not sure where else is left....

Pete 01-18-2009 04:40 PM

i think they should just write awesomely sold songs for their next album, as opposed to epic concept stuff

The Feeding 01-18-2009 08:36 PM

yeah i like the straightforeward jams better i think...but an entire album like that might end up boring...or just be like slayer haha

interviewer02 01-18-2009 10:38 PM

So is Colors a better album than Alaska? I bought Alaska and was dissapointed, at its root its very generic metal but there are progressive sections written around it that I actually like, but can't stand the overall feel of the album.

JonG 01-19-2009 12:56 AM

Alaska > Colors

MBS 01-19-2009 01:18 AM

hi jong

theyre pretty similar but alaska is 11 separate songs and colors is one long song

Capricious 01-21-2009 07:40 PM

It only took a year for them to play it live.. Wretch:

Guess that makes it 9 songs outta 10, unless bone marrow turns out to be another divinity within- barely attempted.

Tyler 01-21-2009 07:55 PM

They played Divinity Within at pretty much every show for a good year after Kezia came out. In fact, they were playing it the same week Kezia came out.

switched 01-21-2009 07:57 PM

amazing

Tyler 01-21-2009 08:00 PM

Looks like they've got a ways to go on Wretch tbh. Luke's stuttering with all the Jarzombek 12 tones ****.

switched 01-21-2009 08:01 PM

I rate them about the same, the are just different, but still both classic albums.
