Reviews of reviews, though...great stuff. (including this review of a review of a review)

Anarcho Poser 11-17-2007 08:25 AM

Going to see them tonight. 3 hours away. Sweet.

Henrik 11-17-2007 08:35 AM

I finally got the album. I gotta say, I'm really impressed!

Favorite track so far: Watch it Crash.

I liked Watch it crash the most too in my first listen because it sounds like good old Streetlight but the great thing with this album is that all the other, let's say, less familiar tracks will constantly grow on you with every new listen.

Awesome, I can't give enough praise to this album.

Mr Benners 11-17-2007 07:59 PM

I love it. I totally and utterly love it. Been waiting a long time for this and I'm not let down at all. Awesome, AWESOME album.
Only time will tell how it rates to EGN though. It's looking good though :D

obese_breasts 11-17-2007 09:23 PM

Forty Days is up there in top tracks for me

Time 11-17-2007 09:26 PM

^ah yeah it is so damn funky

I really love the album alot more than I expected, Down Down Down has been stuck in my head since Wednesday. Also, I really need to get the BOTAR EP.

EDIT 1400 cool

Transient 11-17-2007 09:38 PM

I like The Receiving End of It All the most.

albert_bass 11-18-2007 05:58 AM

Forty Days has been my favorite for the longest time but I just don't know how to rate the others.

Somewhere In Between, Down down down, Receiving End Of It All and We will fall together probably are on top but I just can't really say.

I can mail it to you if you want.

Jessizzle 11-18-2007 07:50 AM

i like the receiving end of it all, and 40 days best.. hhmm.. trend?

Catchthe22 11-18-2007 02:42 PM

I just saw the bad review. That was a pathetic review. I don't think he spell checked either.

DougJI 11-18-2007 03:13 PM

Receiving end is probably the best song kalnoky has written to this point.

Anarcho Poser 11-18-2007 06:54 PM

Eric, did you go to the show last night? It was a good set and they were awesome, but it was way too crowded, and the most pathetic excuse for a pit I've ever seen.

thecaptainawesome 11-18-2007 07:02 PM

Does anyone know where I can buy the actual A Call to Arms cd, and not just the downloads?

Aficionado 11-18-2007 07:07 PM

Go to the riscgroup store.

what a douche.
Not a single commenter agreed with him.

Henrik 11-19-2007 10:25 AM

I really like "One Foot on the Gas/One Foot in the Grave".
I especially love the part where the gang vocals go: What will you do when they call your name and you're not ready to go?.

Basically this album owns more and more as time goes by.

SkaRobotArmy 11-19-2007 10:46 AM

i'm fairly positive that review was written as a joke to piss of ska fans eveywhere.

Triple Post But Its Sooooo Gooooooooooooooooooooooooood!

rebelfist 11-21-2007 04:22 AM

Hey guys. I just registered to this site for this thread, just cause I love them so much (SLM, C22, and BOTAR). I've been following Catch 22 and Tom's music for four years now and have been over amazed at the genius he puts in his work. Thank whatever force that moves this world that I get to see them a second time in New Orleans this week. I'm stoked - see you there if you're going.

Henrik 11-21-2007 07:42 AM

At the Recieving End Of It All is my new favorite song.
And What A Wicked Gang We Are gets way to little credit.

Catchthe22 11-21-2007 11:19 AM

We will fall together 5/5
Down Down Down to Mephisto's Cafe 4/5
Would You Be Impressed 4/5
One Foot on the Gas 3.5/5
Watch it Crash 4.5/5
Somewhere In the Between 5/5
Forty Days 4.5/5
Blonde Lead the Blind 3.5/5
The Receiving End of it All 5/5
What a Wicked Gang We Are 4.5/5

yeah, props to gravity.

Catchthe22 11-21-2007 01:52 PM

welcome to the boards.

RouteOne 11-21-2007 01:54 PM

I saw them the other night. They were great. Too many fags being retards prevented anyone from skanking though.

Pinhead13 11-21-2007 02:00 PM

I'm seeing Streetlight Manifesto tonight!

Aficionado 11-24-2007 03:45 PM

This CD is damn good, but I feel it lacks the magic of EGN. I'm sure some songs will grow on me. I don't know why but Mephisto's cafe's chorus annoys me.

Henrik 11-24-2007 05:17 PM

The booklet says that Mephisto's Cafe originally should have been on Catch 22's second album if Tomas had stayed in that band.
That was kind of interesting I thought. :)
