ok two questions

How are the AAX X-celorators? What Zildjian hi hats would you compare them to?

And what is a good sabian ride that has good crashability? I was looking at the AA rock ride. Any other suggestions?

HeLLmO 02-19-2006 03:08 PM

lets see, i think briliant finish AAX-Celerators would probably compare to A custom master sounds, as for the rides, i know sabians AAX stage ride is really crashable, but the AA rock ride is a good ride too, even though i'm not sure of it's crash

if you want crashability do not get the AA rock ride. Get something a bit thinner with more wash like the AAX stage crash. Or the AA medium.

Bloodlust 02-19-2006 05:00 PM

do you guys know what kind of ride the drummer from Coheed and Cambria uses? Its a AA something.

HeLLmO 02-19-2006 08:40 PM

i'm pretty sure josh eppard uses an AA Metal X ride, i think it's a 20'' but i'm not totally sure

Chester 02-19-2006 09:44 PM

i have an 20" AAX stage ride, and i think it sounds better as a crash than a ride lol

well, its a decent ride, just not exactly what i want, but its good for me right now cuz i dont have a second crash, so i use that too.

so yea, really look into that one

HeLLmO 02-19-2006 10:09 PM

^i hear the 20'' AAX stage rides have a ton of wash, but the 21''s are better

CombatWombat3 02-19-2006 11:00 PM

I think the drummer from the Darkness uses a 21" sweet ride as a crash.

HeLLmO 02-19-2006 11:02 PM

i think Wuv from POD does too, and i think Taylor Hawkins used to. and whatever ride Brad wilk used to use when he had zildjians(i know it was an A, just not sure on the kind) had a nice crash to it
i want a hi hat that i can use for jazz, funk and rock, i was thinking the HH fusion 14" or the AA regular 14" or the AAX-xcelerator 14", any other ideas? i want a really funky "zzzz" when using the pedal
HeLLmO 02-20-2006 09:19 PM

^dude, plz give the new beat plugs a rest. sure new beats are great hats, but i personally would rather have some k/z's or some HHX groove hats

and AA regulars?? good?

HeLLmO 02-21-2006 10:35 AM

i like 'em, i personally am gonna get some 15'' AA regulars but the 14''s are good too

Chester 02-21-2006 10:37 AM

AA regulars are fine, try them for yourself and see what YOU like.
What if some1's favorite cymbal on here is one you hate, once you get ot the pro level cymbals, most of what matters is preference, unles your stupid and get Z customs.

HeLLmO 02-21-2006 10:56 AM

haha ya, bad z customs(except the rides), but yea, AA regulars are good but definatly try other stuff, like u may go to ur store and try AAX-celerators and like them better, or even new beats

oliv_da_skinmasher 02-21-2006 11:14 AM
i like 'em, i personally am gonna get some 15'' AA regulars but the 14''s are good too
Yeah i think the 15" 1's are better

HeLLmO 02-21-2006 12:15 PM

yea, i love me some big hi hats. i think i'm gonna get those and put them as x hats on the right side of my kit then use 14'' K/Zs on the left side

chewaz 02-22-2006 01:16 AM

ok, but a 15" kinda of big if i'm going to play jazz aswell on it (i's use it for rock and funk mainly), i tried the regulars of a friend of mine, and they were nice, but i havent played the aaxcelerator and i dont think i can.
And another question the HH heavy ride 22" i'm thinking using it for rock and funk, but is it good for jazz too?

HeLLmO 02-22-2006 10:24 PM

yea, the 15''s maybe a bit big for jazz, and i do like the HH heavy ride, haven't tried it in a jazz setting though, i can't see how that would be helpful to u, but try it out urself

punkrocker2o1 02-23-2006 11:58 PM

Simple question. Are Zildjian K Special K/Z Hi-Hats and the K/Z Dyno-Beat Hi-Hats the same things just with different names?
