Because then I would have to acknowledge the fact I failed my essay and do that for resubmission and I'm not sure I can take the humilliation.

Spaceman Spiff 06-03-2009 03:40 PM

What was the essay on?

Epidemechanical 06-03-2009 03:41 PM

ive talked to jean baudin

hes a condescending prick

and not in the good way

fatbandit 06-03-2009 03:46 PM

I've emailed him about a couple of things and he's been nothing but helpful to me, so idk

gaslight 06-03-2009 03:49 PM

Seems like a nice enough guy from what I've seen of him, but I've never met him and had a conversation with him so I couldn't say for sure. That's the only way to really know what someone is like is to kick it with them.

Someone owning a 9 string bass is a bit of a red flag I suppose.

Spaceman Spiff 06-03-2009 03:59 PM

I really don't give a crap about Jean Baudin. He made a few decent songs with his solo bass stuff, but, for the most, his music is pretty terrible. And I don't really care to have any conversation with him. Nothing against him, he's just another guy that I don't care if I ever speak to.
What was the essay on?
Not really sure which is probably why I failed. I was cocky and ****ed up. I think it was "essentials and essence of nursing skills" or something. Basically pick a patient and write about their care. Which is hard when your patient has a mild dementia and you've only visited them once.

gaslight 06-03-2009 04:11 PM

Christ dude I think you might have a tough time on this essay. Unless visiting the patient is optional.

im just kidding he was very nice

and i like some of his solo songs really nice sense of melody and great composition

Sablate McNuff 06-03-2009 06:42 PM

I need to pick a prominent, influential figure (band or individual artist) in rock history to write an essay on (pre-1979). I'm thinking Jim Morrison might be kind of fun. Suggestions?
Christ dude I think you might have a tough time on this essay. Unless visiting the patient is optional.
Shouldn't be that hard. I think I was just too arrogant to admit I needed to spend more than just a week doing it and read around more. I didn't even really need to have a real patient, it is pretty easy if you want to just make up a patient with a textbook case rather than use a real one if you don't tell the exam board.

Sterling by Musicman SB14 = sex

FunkMetalBass 06-04-2009 10:42 AM
Lou Reed?
That's a good option too.

I considered this too, but somebody in the class is doing Pink Floyd, so he will be heavily covered, I'm sure. I like to write about the uncommon choices as I usually find that my average writing abilities are less important than the interesting topic or stance that I take on a paper.

Keep 'em coming, y'all.

I wish MM made a 6-string 'Ray.

gaslight 06-04-2009 10:47 AM

Speaking of six strings, I finally got a new set of strings for my electric guitar today. It always takes me weeks to get around to doing.

They are so damn cheap (compared to the $96 I just spent for my 8-string :upset: ). Every time I buy a some, I buy two or three sets. Usually the DR Dimebag sigs for my electric(s) and some Elixir Nanos for my acoustic.

What strings you usin', gas?

gaslight 06-04-2009 10:55 AM

Haha I know hey I bought strings and it didn't even cost me $20, I was like, wtf just happened did I steal.

I'm trying out a set of DR Tite Fits.

FunkMetalBass 06-04-2009 11:17 AM

Let me know what you think of them. I'm really liking the Dimebags - super heavy bottom and 9's on top.

gaslight 06-04-2009 11:19 AM

I'm quite liking them so far for what I use them for which is just, clean sound fingerpicked jazzy stuff.

Oh. Weird. I try to sound super metal and run through 4 distortion/overdrive/fuzz pedals and then into the dirty channel on my amp.

It's awesome.

gaslight 06-04-2009 11:42 AM

Haha wow. Fuzzy.

Sometimes I use the second channel on my AG500 to try a bit of overdrive on it.

Could pick someone from the no-wave scene in New York in the 70s. Not many people will know about them.

Charles Manson could be also pretty fun.

Aside from over analyzing The White Album, was he an active musician in or before 1979? That's one of the criterium.

I was just kidding. I use my Line 6 amp and put it on the "crunch" setting, and then change the EQ and drive slightly for my distortion tone. 4 pedals would be insane (almost MSI style) in my book. Haha.

EADGCF 06-04-2009 04:09 PM

Anyone good with Audition? Whenever I open a wavform, it defaults to spectral view. I want wavform view. Any ideas?

Spaceman Spiff 06-04-2009 04:12 PM

No clue.

I can't wait for tomorrow. Working 40 hour weeks is horrible. Stupid nine-to-five.

BenJammin 06-04-2009 04:35 PM

40 hours does suck. It's at least 10 hours too few.
