Haha, I see. When you gonna get a guitar recording up for our competition?

Ramsey 03-10-2005 12:55 AM

Am I allowed in the competition?

Something tells me you guys will say no. :upset:

ArcLite 03-10-2005 12:56 AM
Am I allowed in the competition?

You'll lose...it's a "Who's Worse?" competition. But feel free to post something up.

Ramsey 03-10-2005 01:01 AM

Yay. I'll post my worst stuff.

\m/Pete\m/ 03-10-2005 01:02 AM

competition..can i play?

pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeez

ArcLite 03-10-2005 01:03 AM
competition..can i play?

pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeez
Yeah. Post up any guitar recordings you have, original or covers.

\m/Pete\m/ 03-10-2005 01:07 AM

i have a song of mine that i transcribed over to guitar pro 4, does that count?

it isnt done, but i'll post it you want. Oh and how can i record my actual guitar on the computer?

ArcLite 03-10-2005 01:17 AM

Has to actually be played, not GP4ed. For recording I go the cheap route. I have a $15 computer mic, I record with Audacity (freeware), and mix with Mixcraft, a $30 shareware program. If you have to money go buy yourself a POD XT. That's the way to go there, like Ramsey has.

\m/Pete\m/ 03-10-2005 01:21 AM

**** i dont have that..I think it was Mathias telling me that i could get a converter thing at like radio shack. Thats what he uses i guess

Riva 03-10-2005 01:22 AM

Hello everyone. First post here for 3 or so days.

ArcLite 03-10-2005 01:23 AM

Here's my two I have here.

Most of you have already heard this one. My Iced Earth - 1776 cover, with added original solo at the end:
http://s28.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1NVDLOWBAYRPU0H5LC5SZXRPV5

And here's a little Opeth/Norther/CoB Medley type cover I made a few months ago. Again with added solo at the end:

Here's your winner of the "Who's Worse?" competition right here.

ATM 03-10-2005 01:24 AM

I can't record myself yet.

\m/Pete\m/ 03-10-2005 01:24 AM

yeah i heard the iced earth one and i liked it.

i'll check the other one out

edit:not bad. liked it. i'll try to get that stuff tomorrow

Riva 03-10-2005 01:27 AM

Send me a microphone, some recording equipment, and a new Fender Strat, and I will post a clip of my singing and playing.

ArcLite 03-10-2005 01:29 AM

Thanks. The production is putrid, but I just do it all for fun so I don't really care.

\m/Pete\m/ 03-10-2005 01:33 AM

good philosophy

\m/Pete\m/ 03-10-2005 01:34 AM

what kinda gear you got?

Nice.

ATM 03-10-2005 01:37 AM

Chris, you just record on a mic?

ArcLite 03-10-2005 01:37 AM

Guitars:
Ibanez SZ320,
Gibson SG
Amps:
Marshall MG15
Peavey Blazer 15W

I love my Ibanez. It's the cheaper guitar of the two but I like it better. The amps are both weak but work well in my situation.

Edit: Yes ATM, a nice $15 one :) .

\m/Pete\m/ 03-10-2005 01:41 AM

nice

I got a black cherry ESP F-50 with EMG 85-81 active set and DR High beam 12g strings.
A digitech rp90 pedal (best $50 i ever spent) on a Peavey Audition 30

not a real great amp but i can get some mad pinches on it

ArcLite 03-10-2005 01:44 AM

Ahh, good man. You use DR's. I use nothing else.

ATM 03-10-2005 01:45 AM

I just bought DR's for the first time a few days ago.

\m/Pete\m/ 03-10-2005 01:49 AM

yeah my lil bro got some and the were so nice on his Ice-Man. He has the ones in the black package, mines purple.

i love those and Dean Markley Blue Steels...i tried some ernie ball super slinkys and they were all right.

oh and i use a Dava pick or my Dunlop .73 which is funny because a used to use a 3mm which is pretty much a bass pick haha

ArcLite 03-10-2005 01:54 AM

I usually use the Tight Fit .10's, sometimes .11's. If I didn't have DR's the next string I'd use is Earnie Ball's, those are nice too.

\m/Pete\m/ 03-10-2005 01:56 AM

its funny, my bridge fell off once and i had it on backwards and the autenation (sp?) was the same

ArcLite 03-10-2005 01:59 AM
its funny, my bridge fell off once and i had it on backwards and the autenation (sp?) was the same
Heh, mine's fixed on both axes so I don't have to worry about that. YOu play in a band?

BTW: I believe the word in your title is supposed to be "Formerly", not formally :thumb: .

ATM 03-10-2005 02:02 AM

I need to get more sleep.

ArcLite 03-10-2005 02:03 AM
I need to get more sleep.
Why sleep when you can MX? I see much more payoff here...

ArcLite 03-10-2005 02:09 AM

Hey man. No idea what the (a) means, I'd have to see it in context. Yeah Pete, I feel like doing it too sometimes :) .
