hey Tangy, get a chance to listen to the IHH album yet?
As far as my digging goes it's still just The River.
Yea, just got around to it (lazy i know). I like it and will listen to it more than once but it's a little "I've heard this before". They've definately got something there though. Would love to see 'em live. Tell Matt to get the fuck over here, seriously. They can stay at my house if needs be. |
Oneida - Each One, Teach One
One of the finest "noise-rock" albums that I've ever heard.
I love that band so ****ing much. Every album/ep I own by them rules so much. Except The Wedding, but we can forget about that |
wha? The Wedding has some great stuff on it.
|
I don't mean it's bad or nothing, it's ok but it isn't as good as the others
I haven't really listened to it that much though. |
I heard Conlon Nancarrow, but didn't have big thoughts about it. Ligeti is better. I haven't been digging anything recently. Except for the fall. I love the leaves and the cheeks that blushes, when you drive your bicycle and listen to old records. I wan't to stop time an evening during fall. Afterwards I want to get a really good meal. With meat. While listening to post-rock.

Daft Punk - Discovery

sounds pretty epic. i just had a philly steak and cheese sandwich with swiss cheese, mushrooms, peppers, mayo, and cherry pepper relish. man that was good. i was listening to Decoder Ring while i ate it. anyone heard Somersault by them? pretty captivating album
|
Decoder Ring are good.
Well, rap album of the year so far for me is Little Brother - Get Back. I listened to it so much today. Also at work I listened to: Sleeping People - Growing Buried At Sea - Ghosts Stereolab - Margerine Eclipse |

I'm a little biased so it's hard for me to make a proper judgement. I'll let him know they can stay at yours, it just might seal the deal. I'm sure they'd love to go to NZ though, they're pretty damn sick of driving up and down the east coast of Oz that's for sure. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Abbatoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Let Love In |
goooooooooood
|
For anyone who cares, Nick Cave played by far the best show I have ever seen tonight. Grinderman was a little underwhelming and Nick Cave solo is at least twice as good as anything else I've seen.
Setlist, more or less in order; Red Right Hand The Weeping Song The Ship Song Deanna Love Letter Into My Arms Messiah Ward (I think) -not sure- Tupelo The Mercy Seat God is in the House Babe You Turn Me On Lyre of Orpheus Go Tell the Women People Aint No Good Can't remember the last song. Lucy was in there somewhere as well. |
still digging porcupine tree.

Shit that really started to grate on me after about the hundredth time. I thought Grinderman were great btw. Billy Bragg - Talking with the Taxman about Poetry |
Absolution and Black Holes & Revelations by Muse have both been sitting in my collection for a while, and I haven't paid them much attention. Now I can't put them down!
