Walrus Gumboot 04-30-2005 10:37 AM

I got some headphones that can be implanted in earmuffs that are flat and the same color as my hair. I should try those

MalcolmYoungRock 04-30-2005 10:47 AM
Thats what you think :p
No matter, just posted it in the wrong thread.

I posted the same exact thing in the Beatles thread.

Distant Echoes 04-30-2005 10:51 AM

I saw.

I had to make a similar 'ninja edit' before. I think i even was in the wrong forum for the thread i accidentaly posted in. I still have no idea how that happens.

heh heh...ninja edit, i like that :)

and Walrus, if you can get away with wearing earmuffs in school, then that sounds like a good idea
The headphones hurt after a while.
You know you can get different headphones right?

I have some great headphones that I use for isolation when drumming that work really well for music too. They're big though, so I can't use them in school.

ATM 04-30-2005 01:56 PM

I just naturally have music in my head :)

Broken Arrow 04-30-2005 02:09 PM

Woodstock, I think there is a wayto convert them, I just forget how to.

/gets away with listening to music in class

Walrus Gumboot 04-30-2005 02:12 PM

There is a local private school music fesival going on in a couple hours, I think I might go, and most likely be the only public school kid there

I'll have to get out a pair of Khakis and a golf club shirt :D

Ya teachers in my school don't care if you are listening to music, as long as it isn't super loud while they are talking (then they may ask you to turn it down, or take them off).

So for this Battle of the Bands I've decided to play Sunshine of Your Love at the audition (because we don't have time to learn/rehearse a harder song), and at the actual show we are gonna most likely play Light My Fire..which I just finished learning a few minutes ago.

Just a suggestion for Sunshine of Your Love, using a Wah in the intro makes the song sound really cool and impressive, and many other places, but IMO it has its strongest effect in the intro.

Very good idea! I was thinking of ways to jazz up the song, since it is a little....plain....(can I say that?) I'll definitely use a wah, thanks for the suggestion. :thumb:

I've also stuck a keyboard in the song, just to liven things up.

TheDMV 04-30-2005 05:31 PM

^Any chance we could hear that? It's sounding a lot diffrent from the original, I'd love ot see how it turns out.

magicbus 04-30-2005 05:44 PM

I was going to play Sunshine of Your Love, but I couldn't get a full band together (my school is musically lame), so I'll probably play Wish You Were Here or Europa solo.

Leper 04-30-2005 07:24 PM

I don't believe our school has ever had a battle of the bands or anything like that. Just air band, which is so lame i don't even want to think about it.

Woodstock 04-30-2005 07:27 PM

Our school has a BOB. I can't wait to go to it. I want to hear all the emo songs.

Leper 04-30-2005 07:30 PM

hahaha true enough eh? lol.

Haha ya airbands are lame. I remember in Grade 5 me and my friends did an airband in front of the school. We played a song by Korn. :upset:

My school actually doesn't have a lot of emo kids. We are really just a school full of metalheads, and you are basically classified as to what kind of metal you listen to. Except for a few punks, and my fellow flowerchild friends.

There are no flowerchilds but me at my school. It's so lonely and cold. :upset:

derek47 04-30-2005 07:42 PM

Back to the guy up there^, Deep Purple is amazing--a lot of kids at my school know the one song that they did, but Deep Purple did so much more, and better, songs then that. It is kind of a shame that so little people know that.

thickasabrick 04-30-2005 07:42 PM
There are no flowerchilds but me at my school. It's so lonely and cold. :upset:
 We have several...I hang around with most of them. The one I'm friends with the most is getting a little too messed up from too much marijuana though. He literally only knows two months: October (his birthday) and April (4/20). He's a great guy though.

It's started snowing again here, so we can't toke up in the park because it's too cold, so last night we just went into a house that's just being built. (no doors or anything like that) and smoked up, then meditated for an hour.

Leper 04-30-2005 07:45 PM

sounds like another productive day from our good friend, thickasabrick. lol

There's a few major classic rock fiends other than me at school that I hang out with, but no "flower children"...

Yeah well a teacher started a club at our school in the mornings, that's just yoga and meditation. I've gotten into it pretty fast, it's quite enjoyable.

We always just get so baked we end up going on some sort of fantastic journey though. Last night we went through an entire tank of gas and then another half tank, and I don't even think we accomplished anything worth talking about.

edit- the last paragraph is about what we do on weekends, not at the yoga club. We have a lot of guys at our school who listen to Classic Rock, but most of them are generally jerks who like to break into cars and stuff like that for fun. I'm not that kind of a guy.

TheDMV 04-30-2005 07:49 PM

My mom is a yoga instructor. I never really got into it though. I have some hippie ideals, but yoga's just not my thing.

Leper 04-30-2005 07:51 PM

a tank and a half?? Wow...marijuana: the drug that just keeps on costing more..lol

Walrus Gumboot 04-30-2005 09:52 PM

There are so many flower children at my school, complete with Grateful Dead shirts, Bob marley hair, hacky sacks, ukuleles and, on occasion, digereedoo's. They all sit on the heaters throught the school and jam on guitar and play hackey sack and stuff. Of the 600 some kids that go to my school, maybe 10% are hippies. It's lovely, really

jpj 04-30-2005 09:55 PM

There's one hippie at my school. The funny thing is in middle school he was like a football star, and was popular. Now he has dreads, wears tie-dye Grateful Dead shirts, and plays hacky sack.

Was he one of the ones who went hippie to be cool, or is he tormented for his newfound beleifs?

EDIT: I just got back from this JamFest thing, it was so bitchin' for something in my town (population 6,000)
Was he one of the ones who went hippie to be cool, or is he tormented for his newfound beleifs?
He's a genuine hippie. When I saw him for the first time in like 3 years, I couldn't believe it. I asked my brother about him (he was friends with him in middle school), and he said that he was always a hippie but didn't show it until high school.

Also when I was wearing my moe. hoody he said "Hey, you like moe.?".
Me: Yea.
Him: That's cool. /walks away
