Ill eventualy try out the RTL solo, that and the Creeping Death one. They both look hard though. I have the RTL, AJFA and the KEA tab booklets, tabs arent all right though...
Yeah Creeping Death was another hard solo for me to learn. i got the a minor 3 string sweep down but there was (I think it was anyways) that e minor sweep where you had to barre all the treble strings on the 10th fret. That was a bitch for me to play.

Don't even get me started on trying to play Trapped Under Ice. Errrrr.

Stormrider 11-16-2005 07:45 PM

Trapped Under Ice is another of RTL best songs IMO.

Another solo which is pretty cool is the one in Whiplash and those in Hit the Lights.

Yeah, I'm pretty much a fan of all of the solos on KEA.

The first time I played SnD for my uncle the first thing he said about the solo was, "Damn that was wicked fast!"

Aw3someman 11-16-2005 07:51 PM
I didn't like LPs all that much either until I recently bought one. (not a gibson just a copy) The action is great and the grind you get while playing Blackened through a Line 6 spider II is just so damn evil.
I was thinking bout getting an ESP. The kirk hammet one. Not the actual signature series but the KH-202 which is cheaper and still looks like it kicks A##. I loved the Mustain axxion though. If i can pull together some funds... Oh yeah. LP's aren't really as good as they cost. They are good but the price tag is waay to high.
Why do you post in this thread if you hate Metallica idiot:evil:
Because someone in the thread he made redirected him to this thread.

I have Ride the Lightning and Black Album, and I thoroughly enjoy both.

oh i LOVE the early solos. whiplash, hit the lights, metal militia, THE FOUR HORESMEN, seek and destory, like every song on the album has a wicked awesome solo on it. they just make me go crazy and get really into it!

Britton 11-17-2005 12:00 AM

Yea the KEA solo's are so much fun to hear

Of the early albums, The Four Horsemen solo is probably my favorite out of anything on Kill em' All and Ride the Lightning. My favorite solo by Metallica in general is the slow/first solo on Master of Puppets. I have always found it amazing since I first heard it and my mind hasn't changed on it.

Britton 11-17-2005 12:09 AM

I really like the break down in the four horsemen. was that cliffs idea?

Grimm 11-17-2005 12:13 AM

I've been trying to learn Orion for a while on bass. Geez its hard.I can play the thing, but I have to play along with the song to get the timing right. Its practically impossible to play the whole bit through without stuffing up the interlude. I suppose it will take a lot more practice to get it right, but when I can, I'll be able to play it with my friends and it'll sound awesome.

Not that anyone cares but me.

.:Thrasher:. 11-17-2005 12:26 AM

^i feel for you dont worry
when i used to play bass i had the same problem so yer then i eventually went to guitar this year

fatbandit 11-17-2005 05:05 AM

The interlude isn't the hard part for the bass in Orion :/

:smash:

Jev 11-17-2005 06:22 AM

Yeah that bass solo towards the end looks difficult.
The interlude is fun for me and the bassist to play.

fatbandit 11-17-2005 06:32 AM

I can play the bass solo in it. Sloppily.

The interlude is just a nice place to improvise a little though :) I don't know what Rob did in the Stones concert, and if they even played as far as the interlude. But in Junglessence, he had a little fun with that part :)

And shouldn't you be at school Happy?

:smash:

Jev 11-17-2005 06:35 AM

Yeah I don't feel so good today.
You left school or something? Or have a free period now?

fatbandit 11-17-2005 06:43 AM

I don't have the morning in school on Thursday. School starts at 5 to 1 for me.

Ah so pretty soon then.

fatbandit 11-17-2005 06:50 AM

Yeah, lucky I live close and they don't give two shiney reindeer poos about me being 5 minutes late for music, eh?

:smash:

Jev 11-17-2005 06:53 AM

Meh, I'm late for school nearly everyday. But so's our form tutor so it doesn't matter at all.

It's actually a very simple song to play.
