Win A Rabbit 03-13-2006 11:30 PM

well i'm off to read. the book of the month is...

lies and the lying liars who tell them. i'm a hundred and some pages in, and it's managed to keep my interest so far. plus, i bought it for $8, originally $40. go me. al franken's the man.

i have school tomorrow. :( it's gonna be terrible going back after a month off... :(

rockindrummer 03-13-2006 11:38 PM

^ Apparently that is a really good book. I should read it for my english class as we have to read a book for some stupid reason.

Maggot Dream 03-13-2006 11:40 PM

That's a great book. I loved it.

Al Franken is a genius.

milkmit 03-13-2006 11:52 PM

oh, how it warms my heart when I hear about the youth getting involved!

now turn all that knowledge into power, damnit, and make sure ya'll vote!
(as well as write your senators/congress(wo)men about the issues you feel are important to you!)

.....and on a slightly-related note, I just printed up a ton of informative impeachment fliers that will soon by hung on every telephone pole in my neighborhood. tomorrow I buy the stapler that will get the job done, and then on to this weekend for some local anti-Iraq-war protesting! :)

OH MAN.
I just found the old jamie thomas part in 'welcome to hell'.

sooo many memories! this is one of the best skating parts in any video, ever. so good to see it again now that the tape is long gone. :)

rockindrummer 03-14-2006 12:42 AM

Does anybody here watch 24? I must say it is one of the more intense shows on tv right now.

Panopticon 03-14-2006 12:55 AM

rockindrummer 03-14-2006 01:08 AM

House is pretty sweet too. His arrogance is just so funny.

Did Jamie Thomas not die attempting to ollie a 27-set?

OMG thats my favorite show on TV right now. This season is really dark, especially tonight and last week's episodes.

House is also good but its not great.

I still have some old skate movies. The most memorable part is in Vancouver 1999 where Chad Muska tries to k-grind a steep pole and nuts himself on the last foot of the rail. He bailed out half way, then BANG. Must've been a 10ft drop onto his nuts..

I think jamie thomas won best trick in that as well.

styler 03-14-2006 07:22 AM

prison break, 24, and bones are pretty kool shows i reckon. prison break drives me nuts... im getting into that old buffy nockoff show too now. angel or whatever. every night from 12am to 2am i watch it. lmao.

Corkofski 03-14-2006 10:03 AM

I'm reading his new book, The Truth, and its great also. The only thing I don't like is that he tends to make jokes at times when they're not always appropriate.

styler 03-14-2006 10:12 AM

i hate that in books.

"weve discovered who the killer was. it was his brother! trying to get his inheritance money by killing his own brother. sad what the world is coming too."

"yeah i just farted, who wants pizza?"

milkmit 03-14-2006 10:37 AM

ohhhh man.. muska was only second to thomas as my favorite skater back in the day. I don't even remember what video it was, but it was the one where he changed from suit to 'skater' in the phone booth at the beginning. good stuff. :)

the_runs 03-14-2006 10:43 AM

Muska was always my favorite in the video games. A little Tony Hawk 1 on 64 anyone?

Jezen 03-14-2006 11:02 AM

With me it was Gershon Mosley, Peter Smolik, Chad Muska, Rodney Mullen. And really, Mullen is the king.

When the first THPS came out I was always Kareem Campbell I think, though I can't be sure.

Panopticon 03-14-2006 12:11 PM

on the later THPS's i was always bam margera and always ALWAYS did the Human Dart Grind, or i was Tony Hawk and did a Sack Tap or 900...

God, Sack Taps were fun...

SkaRabbit 03-14-2006 12:32 PM

i just added a blast block to my pedal collection... just to the right of my bass drum. opened up a whole new level of playing. damn hard to get used to .
