Theres a very good metal musical landscape in the north Europe, youll see.
i was also hoping that some of the area's natural metal music ability would rub off on me if i moved up there.....but, alas, it means learning a new language and i hate that!

Spaceman Spiff 12-09-2004 11:00 AM
then by rights u should be a metal GOD!
go forth and create some crazy death metal!
yes, i should begin slaying non-believers with my true metal-ness.

Rollo47 12-09-2004 11:01 AM

Spaceman Spiff 12-09-2004 11:01 AM

Wintermute 12-09-2004 11:02 AM

Ok, so I just downloaded a video of The Who playing Won't Get Fooled Again live...

It's awe-inspiring. It demonstrates very aptly why every member in the band is/was among the best in the world at what they do, that the Who were one of the greatest rock acts in history, and put on the best live shows, and that the song rules all.

This video is teh pwnz0r.

Rollo47 12-09-2004 11:04 AM

Is it a newer video, or an original one?

ElKapitan 12-09-2004 11:05 AM

where did u get it from?

neal_672 12-09-2004 11:05 AM

Wintermute 12-09-2004 11:22 AM

I got it from the internet! *strokes Limewire lovingly*

It's older, though I couldn't say when. All four members are alive, and they look quite young.

I feel generous. I'll upload it onto yousendit and share the love.

:naughty:

Rollo47 12-09-2004 11:29 AM

My friend has that new-ish live DVD of them. The one from the concert they did for charity. It's awesome - John Entwhistle's solo is great, although the distortion makes it a little hard to hear what he's doing.

Can't be that new, Entwistle is sort of dead now.

His playing in this live video is great, but the cameraman focuses on Daltrey and Townshend. Although since Townshend is jumping around like an absolute loony, it's not hard to see why. At the end he throws a cymbal up in the air and then throws his guitar at it

ElKapitan 12-09-2004 11:35 AM

i always found it amusing when people wrote his name as Townsend, sheer laziness not to look it up
i think Limp *shudder* Bizket did that on their horrendous cover of Behind Blue Eyes

Rollo47 12-09-2004 11:36 AM

No, it's not that new, but they're all old - John Entwhistle is sporting a mop of grey hair, and Roger Daltrey sounds as if he had a stroke.

neal_672 12-09-2004 11:36 AM

That cover was just painful. I mean i'm not a huge fan of The Who in the first place, but they murdered that song...

Rollo47 12-09-2004 11:37 AM

Yeah, Limp Bizkit's cover of Behind Blue Eyes was simply horrible. Never heard anything quite so bad.

Wintermute 12-09-2004 11:38 AM

Right, I'm officially worried.

A friend of mine is a guitar virtuoso. He's 15 and he regularly does Hendrix solos behind his head in live shows, and worked out Vai's 'Eugene's Trick Bag' by ear, which is downright scary. I showed him that Don Alder video that was linked to a bit ago, and he's gone to try and figure it out... This kid is not right. He's only been playing 4 years! 15 year olds should not be playing Vai solos. 15 year olds should not be adding improv sections to Hendrix solos. Behind their heads.

ElKapitan 12-09-2004 11:38 AM

anywho, i gotta go, have to meet my girlfriend at the tram stop from college

latos all
i always found it amusing when people wrote his name as Townsend, sheer laziness not to look it up

They removed any hint of musical progression, took out the cool climax, and replaced a rock legend vocalist with a seal in pain.

Rollo47 12-09-2004 11:39 AM

That's ridiculous, Wintermute.

I'm insanely jealous. Heh.

neal_672 12-09-2004 11:39 AM

I have a friend like that too, he's been playing 5 years and is 16, he plays solo's with his teeth :upset: and can do Vai stuff etc, so irritating...

bassist-bmxer 12-09-2004 11:41 AM

Rollo47 12-09-2004 11:41 AM

Pfft. Being 15 never stopped anyone from drinking a pint.
