Merriweather Post Pavillion has been making me listen to Feels and Strawberry Jam again. Which is good.
Yeah, Same. the new Animal Collective is optimistic. A breath of fresh air. A reminder that complexity doesn't always equate to somberness. |

Me too. I'm always letdown when it ends. I never like their other stuff as much as when that album's on. |
John Frusciante - The Empyrean
very different. solos abound. pretty cool. |
Franz Nicolay - Major General
Do not love it as much as World/Inferno, Anti-Social Music or Guignol, but probably more than The Hold Steady, who I never gave a real chance. A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Marauders I've heard this whole album quite a few times at a friend's house, but this is my first time really just sitting down and listening to it. |
jordaan mason - mantra songs
recently saw his group live. very very good off-beat folk. http://cllct.com/release/mantrasongsinternetversion fo free. |

"What Would They Know" is so good, a lot of this album, that song in particular, reminds me of sonic youth alot
i accidentally downloaded their discography and was like "wtf i don't want all of this" then i listened to it and then kept the discography forever. also digging: Durutti Column - Another Setting |
Sticking to what I know and it pleases me everytime:
Damien Rice- "9" John Butler Trio-"Grand National" MGMT- "Oracular Spectacular" Scott Weiland- "Happy in Galoshes" (surprisingly addicting and he is going down the indie route. Here is a jam I found of him and his band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBTamM9kNRQ Pixies-"Doolittle" Radiohed-"In Rainbow" Any suggestions for new music? |

I'm just on some weird tip right now where I can't really be bothered with new music. Happens every January/February. I'll listen to it eventually obviously, once I'm done raping my library's classical and jazz collections and obsessively poring over every Motown single. |
the sundays
good band |
I am digging the music I need to listen to for my first American Music listening test in a week or two. Stuff like John Philip Sousa and Scott Joplin so far.
|
When did people start liking The Sundays? Are all their other albums way better than RW&A or something?
|
