computers and flash/usb drives will make CDs extinct. there are laptops without dvd-drives now (netbooks). why? because CDs are dinosaurs. use a USB dongle. like an iPod.
|
yes, but you don't ever have to use it. and they will become extinct on desktops as well. as will every CD player ever. optical mediums are worthless.
if you seriously want to argue that CDs provide us with anything that USB/Flash drives don't, then go ahead. I will however not respond to such idiocy. it makes no sense whatsoever. I'm off to watch King of the Hill. it's on an ehdd, not a dvd. |
Jane Doe isn't a bad metalcore album. I hope you didn't mean that! You should know better.
yah i meant i kept like a select few albums that are classics that I will always like and listen to |
digital media is easily played in a car as well so

Gotcha. Word. My bad. Digital media is easier to share and transport. I'd rather carry my Archos 5 filled with songs/movies/tv shows than a ton of CDs and DVDs in a case, then having to swap out the CD/DVD when I want to use another one. |
i only play dirty south hip hop in my car
Hahaha, like what? |
ugk
|
but i do actually listen to other ****, right now in rotation in my car: blood on the tracks, crooked rain, crooked rain, only built for cuban linx... pt. II, fever ray, attention deficit, two suns
|
you do know that it still isnt standard for most vehicles to come with cd players right?
|
a CD player *is* a specially dedicated player. and you can get heaps of dedicated players for USB/Flash drives. more common today are CD-players/stereos/whatever with mini-jack inputs or whatever for connecting MP3-players and so forth. but soon enough USB/Flash drives will be more more common.
|
did u know soon we are going to have usb ports in our skulls
|
I didn't really bother reading what you wrote because I just don't care but anyway, gaice I just re-uploaded stuff to my ex-band's MySpace! http://www.myspace.com/indietrash
SICK. the first track is totally how the new Burzum album will be. it has both the lo-fi drone guitars AND the long ambient synth tracks. all at the same time! okay maybe not Burzum's newest album, but definitely some unheard demo of Burzum, covered by a Canadian nsbm band. or something like that at least. |

just like cd's made vinyl and casettes extinct right? |
just like cd's made vinyl and casettes extinct right?
your argument is completely and utterly flawed. try to read up on the discussion before you go ahead and spoil it all by saying something stupid like I loooooooooovvvvvvvveeeeeee yoooooooouuuuuuu. |
your argument is completely and utterly flawed. try to read up on the discussion before you go ahead and spoil it all by saying something stupid like I loooooooooovvvvvvvveeeeeee yoooooooouuuuuuu.
I read up on the discussion, I'm just pointing out that your statement is wrong you ******. |
Not w/o purchasing a specially dedicated player and/having a specially dedicated input or radio transmitter that usually isn't standard.
I have one standard in my mom's Jeep Cherokee. There's one standard in my girlfriend's VW Rabbit, too. Just an audio jack you plug into the mp3 player and it plays through your car's speakers. No need for a Belkin transmitter or anything. |
So you still have that stand alone MP3 player that
you're plugging in that didn't come with the car.
...that I would have bought anyway. That's an awful argument, man. You're arguing a losing battle. No matter how right you think you are or how hard you fight against it, MP3s are taking over CDs. Fact. I'm not saying you're wrong, just telling you how it is. |
Plus, all the money I'd be spending on CDs can just as easily be put aside for an mp3 player.
|
8 traks, tapes, abacuses, etc., all still have uses, too.
I'm saying you should be a robot, blindly give into progress, and give Apple more of your money and buy an iPod like a good little sheep. Or be cool and get an Archos 5 because it smokes iPods. |
And my whole point is that CDs still have a use if I don't have a couple of hundred dollars to buy an MP3 player. Did you read anything up there?
didn't read thoroughly on this page or whatever but MP3-players don't cost that much. my iPod Shuffle cost like $40. |
Who gives a **** nerds.
|
so the CD will not be extinct because you have an old car with a CD-player in it? makes sense...
|
I use a CD player and CD's still.
It's crazy how so many bands still release their albums on CD... you know, since it's DYING OUT OH MY GOD. |
so the CD will not be extinct because you have an old car with a CD-player in it? makes sense...
So the CD will be extinct because a new format came about? Your argument makes zero sense. Once more, bands still put stuff out on Vinyl and Casette, it will be the same thing with CDs. Also, extinct would imply its completely out of use, so yeah, some people using it in their cars would prove it's not extinct. |

**** is slamming.
|
CD's aren't going out any time soon, they're still the most recent and modern advancement in actual physical releases .
|
hi,
that's blu-rays. not CDs. CDs are only somewhat decent for music albums by artists that like coming up with artwork and packaging and stuff. |
