Only a 15 dollar show too, nice.

adbforever 03-03-2011 01:16 AM

Stevie 03-03-2011 06:00 AM

Transcend the Rubicon rules, I have The Grand Leveller and Subconscious Terror but really haven't given those two very many listens
I never got to hear my Atheist interview :(
why not?

Kelly was surprisingly awesome to talk to. I don't know why he wouldn't be, but next to Devin Townsend he's the friendliest person I've spoken to.

Transcend the Rubicon is about all you need from them. Barney from Napalm Death was the vocalist on their first album if that interests you.

publicastration 03-03-2011 03:08 PM
idk man, even if new drifting icon was solidt
key word ---- if.

it won't be.

adbforever 03-03-2011 03:22 PM

it'll have sweeps so, yeah, you're probably right

publicastration 03-03-2011 03:24 PM

cause you can't sweep

Transcend The Rubicon really fucking slays, I don't know about their other stuff but def pick that one up

learning this song, most of the riffs are easy but god that sweep is a pain in the ass because of the pinky usage

every other song on the album is pretty much a weak version of this

def an influence of drifting icon

Deth 03-04-2011 10:24 PM

the best part was when they played fast with no recognizable features

adbforever 03-04-2011 10:52 PM

recognizable features

Deth 03-04-2011 10:52 PM

music is about hooks

rasputin 03-04-2011 11:02 PM

those musicians are talented at music but i there wasn't any musicalness to be heard in that song whatsoever it's just not music

adbforever 03-05-2011 12:23 AM
music is about hooks
yea, origin knows how to write them in riff-form

Jackie Gleason 03-05-2011 12:24 AM

nop

witchxrapist 03-05-2011 01:41 AM

good dm hook = first breakdown in hadlock by knights of the abyss

arguably the best deathcore song with abyssal creation, the sunset will never charm us, the burning, and the black page.

Deth 03-05-2011 11:24 AM

knights of the abyss are pretty much unlistenable though

NEEDTOPOST 03-05-2011 11:28 AM

are there any other death heads around here or am i the only one

witchxrapist 03-05-2011 02:34 PM
knights of the abyss are pretty much unlistenable though
nah dude, juggernaut's a really good album

was very well received and a lot of people dig it

i think you meant to say you personally don't enjoy knights of the abyss

Angmar 03-05-2011 02:41 PM

One of the bands that opened for Atheist last night legitimately sounded like Waking the Cadaver, the dudes in the band were a bunch of white trash faggots who were extremely out of place and people in the audience were swearing at them, the guy took off all his clothes except his tidy whities for the last song too.

witchxrapist 03-05-2011 02:43 PM

I fucking hate knights of the abyss, think they're a horrible example of extreme music in general

see, it's not hard to understand

witchxrapist 03-05-2011 03:22 PM

yeah but they're actually a pretty good example if you're looking for that style of death metal

you just personally don't enjoy it

Stevie 03-05-2011 03:31 PM

ugh finding working blasphemophagher downloads has been a pain in the arse
but what a band it's worth it in the end

Deth 03-05-2011 03:48 PM

right

I think they're goddawful

witchxrapist 03-05-2011 07:01 PM

yeah dude, you said this already

but i like them a lot

i've only heard nuclear empire of apocalypse but it's awesome, i need to get some of their other stuff

adbforever 03-06-2011 02:53 AM

new obscura, not sure how to feel about it

the spoken/clean vocals ugh

Shred Danson 03-06-2011 02:58 AM

It's great in my opinion, the clean vox are a breath of fresh air.

Also, the breakdowns and brees are fucking sikkkkk

adbforever 03-06-2011 03:02 AM

I believe you are trolling.

Shred Danson 03-06-2011 03:05 AM

Not trolling about the clean vox.

I'm also loving the Dr. Claw vox at the end of Ocean Gateways holy shit

adbforever 03-06-2011 03:11 AM

idk about this album, its definitely good

but idk. I'll need to listen more but I didn't recall many hooks - muezner is ridiculous but if I want to listen to copious amounts of tapped notes I'll listen to Animals as Leaders

Shred Danson 03-06-2011 03:18 AM

Pffft whatever, man, Muezner is more than TAP TAP SWEEPITY SWEEP. There's a lot of glorious moments in this album. I can see it becoming the kinda album that wears itself out, though.

adbforever 03-06-2011 03:21 AM

implying tosin is just TAP TAP SWEEPITY SWEEP, he's literally ruined music for me. Back off bro, things will get serious if you tread on abasi territory. His melodic shred is unmatched.

Shred Danson 03-06-2011 03:21 AM

I gotta say, though, I'm not digging the seven strings.

Shred Danson 03-06-2011 03:22 AM

Oh I wasn't dissing Tosin at all. You misread my post. Wanna fuck?
