the fuzziness of the production is really awesome, but the vocals on the new one are way better let's be honest.

yeah i like the vocals, but vocals weren't really the focus on toweard the depths. that despondent feel and atmosphere it had imo is completely lost. it still sounds good, but it's so very different and i dont think it has as much charm.

the new one has that continuation of austere's sound, which i absolutely adore. very whimsical sounding.

yeah it's really clean sounding. the vocals are definitely really good though.

it's much rawer, nowhere near as 'epic' or whatever

idk I like it, and if you like some old school death metal you'll probably enjoy it as long as you aren't expecting the same style. further back you go the filthier it gets.
