Yeah so hows this for a kick ass week, ok well I just found out I might be going to see Bob Dylan the same week as Deep Purple. My cousin is taking me, and that weekend his parents arn't gonna be there :smoke:.
Hey, are you seeing Dylan in Pittsfield or Norwalk? (Maybe Norwich, can't remember)

I am considering seeing moe./ABB at the Meadows is August, any other good gigs in CT I haven't heard of yet?

PS: Tales of Brave Ulysses is my favorite Cream/Clapton song so far

I'm seeing Dlyan in Norwich, I can't think of any other good people coming, I forget if Paul is coming to this state or not.

Also Tales of Brave Ulysses was the first song I learned on wah :) (well I leanred the solo a month or so later, I got my wah only a month after I started playing, but the main riff is easy)

Glitterati 04-27-2005 08:42 PM

I always really liked Badge, too. I like it especially at the end, where the piano gets going, and Ginger really starts pounding on the drums.

It's way too short. It seems to go for only 30 seconds. :/

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 04-27-2005 09:06 PM

I prefer White Room to Crossroads (at least I do right now). White Room just blows me away. Crossroads is still awesome though. I like Politician too. I just think it sounds really cool and smooth.

PinkFreud 04-27-2005 09:08 PM

mmm, sitting on top of the world currently for me. guitar playing in it = erogenous

BassMasterMike88 04-27-2005 09:17 PM
Whenever I hear the live version of Crossroads, and you hear the last line:

"Standing at the crossroads, believe I'm sinking down"

I'm always like "" at the end.
That reminds me i think the Cream was getting back together for a few shows.

PinkFreud 04-27-2005 09:19 PM

they are, it was confirmed a while ago. 3 shows at the royal albert hall.

i demand that you all go to dboons thread now. two serek & the dominos live songs up. they contain his best playing. downright. total all out playing. go! if you value anything go now!

MalcolmYoungRock 04-27-2005 09:26 PM

I taught one of my students to play the solo for Sunshine of Your Love tonight. He's my prized pupil.

There was an announcement on the radio that Lynyrd Skynyrd and Allman Brothers are co-headlining a concert dealy...anyone know any more about this?

Spiritofmosa 04-27-2005 10:28 PM

wow man is classic rock so popular in this forum

Spiritofmosa 04-27-2005 10:29 PM

is classic rock called classic because its old, or is it a actual genre

MalcolmYoungRock 04-27-2005 10:32 PM

It's an actual genre.

MalcolmYoungRock 04-27-2005 10:38 PM

Can anyone recommend me some Phish?

Against Miik! 04-27-2005 10:45 PM

I like there first album, Junta. That really means nothing, but whatever.

Glitterati 04-27-2005 10:51 PM
Jack Bruce wouldn't have Clapton steal all the spotlight, so he countered Eric's great solo in Crossroads with some of the best bass playing I've ever heard.
He does, especially near the end. They're really powerful and loud, which is hard to hear above Clapton's solo.

Badmoon 04-28-2005 08:38 AM
Can anyone recommend me some Phish?
The two best albums Phish released were Lawn Boy and Hoist, IMO.

Hoist has a large production but constantly sounds great, and they cover a lot of genres well. Lawn Boy is mainly focused on Jazz, and some Bluegrass. That was my first Phish album and one of my favorite albums, along with Lawn Boy.

Chekc Skynyrd's website for the ABB/LS dates.

Woodstock 04-28-2005 03:34 PM

The closest they're coming to me is Cleveland, which is two hours away.

JonG 04-28-2005 03:37 PM

I don't think Skynyrd would be the same without Van Zant, even though his brother sings now? The next concerts I'm going to be going to are McCartney and Eric Johnson...

I look forward to Tom Petty in June.
