I didn't even use a translator, or I would have figured out bilinguality.

sketchyjoe 05-13-2005 06:02 PM

I'm good enough at English not to need to know any other languages.

uhhhh, all languages have rules.
I need to build up my strength and get in party mode for the end of school and the start of summer.
"Building up strength" backfired for me. That's what I was speaking of. Last summer, I got an apartment with a friend and didn't have a job, and every day for over two weeks I would wake up and get drunk. Afterwards, my tolerance was shot and I got The Shakes, so I quit for a while. It was awful. Now, it takes me only about 5 shots to get drunk.

Shtein 05-13-2005 07:03 PM

You’ve grown accustom to hangovers I presume?

AndreTheHyena 05-13-2005 07:06 PM

That's another thing that happened. I never got hungover until that fateful two-week period. I get them now, but they're never that bad, as opposed to my friends who just lay around and puke and are lazy the entire Day After. I think I owe it to my incredibly high metabolism.

Fabz 05-13-2005 07:20 PM
I'm good enough at English not to need to know any other languages.
I hope it's the only langage you know...

sketchyjoe 05-13-2005 07:22 PM

I also speak Swahili.

Fabz 05-13-2005 07:26 PM

Ok...so you live in Africa?

sketchyjoe 05-13-2005 07:31 PM

No but my country colonised it and we killed lots of natives.

FOR KING AND COUNTRY!

Fabz 05-13-2005 07:34 PM

Ok and where do you come from then?

sketchyjoe 05-13-2005 07:53 PM

Work it out.

Shtein 05-13-2005 07:55 PM

we should have a punk-rap artist of the month, that would be insane

sketchyjoe 05-13-2005 07:59 PM

I would win so it would be boring.

Shtein 05-13-2005 08:01 PM

pedro durruti 05-13-2005 08:05 PM

Mine make the least sense

Shtein 05-13-2005 08:08 PM

Jessizzle 05-13-2005 08:09 PM

Les Anglais a peur de autre langues. Ils ne parlent pas autre langue, parce qu'ils sont très mauvais à aucune autre langue mais à l'autre anglais.

Brain Toad 05-13-2005 11:14 PM

We had to watch this movie in my french class, called a Year in Provence, and it had two English people trying to live in France, they were horrible at trying to speak any french. Even the most basic words they flopped on.

I comprehended most of it, but I had to put it through my translator to get a lot. Some of your shortenings are intresting, reminds me of american english compared to britain english. Bastardised if you will.

Fabz 05-13-2005 11:29 PM

French for France is bastardised....we have kept the accent people were speaking back in 16th century.....they have change their accent not us.

Brain Toad 05-13-2005 11:31 PM

Not the accent per se. I'm going off what I read, I've never heard a Quebecois talked compared to a Frenchie. You have a lot of words shortened, but maybe I'm just used to the strict learning of France French in American High School.

The main reason I took French was because of my french background. My mom is part french-canadian, and her maiden name is even in French, LaFleur.

Coma_Girl 05-13-2005 11:33 PM

are you saying your mom is cousin or whatever with Guy Lafleur, the hockey player?

The accent in french is like american/british accent. French people have the same weird accent as Birtish people but its just because they're from the same continent...i guess.

Brain Toad 05-13-2005 11:42 PM
