You have to perform a lewd sexual act on our favorite moderator...

my life can't go beyond average. It has to be average or bad all the time.

There's this chic I've liked pretty much since September, I met her at college. I was first attracted to her physically, she is hot, but as I got to know her, I also liked her as a person.

Anyway, I could never seem to be able to get any moves on her. She is completely unwilling to date anybody, so there was nothing I could really do. Plus she would hit me for no reason, but it was in good fun.

Today, I find out that she dismembered someone and went to jail for it (she told me this), but wouldn't tell me more. The only reasoning she gave me was because "he was rude" and she was also talking about it in a half-hearted manner, like it wasn't a serious issue.

This creeped me out, and I started fearing for my ownself, so I slowly walked out of the library while she was busy on myspace (she didn't even notice I left) got to my car, and drove home. I'll probably never see her again, as this is finals week and we have no other classes together, and I'm transferring schools.

Anyways, I'm really depressed because I did really like her, but during that conversation I began realizing how crazy she really was (she even admitted it herself), and now I'm completely turned off to her, even as a friend. I'm grateful that she's never been to my house, so she doesn't know where I live. And I'm also grateful that I didn't get into a relationship prematurely before realizing exactly what she was capable of.

I know what you mean, after a while if they just keep rambling on, saying the same thing over and over and have no new fact based arguments for yours, I just tell them so.

Icky_Mettle 06-12-2006 09:40 PM

Im finding it funny actually, the guy has 34,000+ posts and doesnt know basic theory. Me thinks he should spend less time on here and more time learning.

My cat used to be the most retarded of cats.

Then he caught a mouse.

And 3 birds.

I'm afraid he's going to kill a bunny next =(

Maggot Dream 06-12-2006 11:50 PM

So I got back from Wakarusa today. For anyone who doesn't know, Wakarusa is a pretty good sized music festival consisting of like 80+ bands, mostly jambands, located in Kansas. Saw some great acts, but my favorites were Les Claypool, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, and Buckethead, who owned completely. He was absolutely insane, really intense. By far my favorite of the whole thing. He's an amazing player.

So yeah, had an awesome 4 days, if anyone cares. It totally ruled.

Hehe, I go here for my music classes. I got a 5 on the AP Theory test and had the highest grades in all of my theory classes.

Yep, I sure don't know anything about theory :-\

At least I don't run off to a circlejerk community thread and cry like a little bitch :-)

Oh I wasn't crying. But I was pointing out the fact that playing in multiple time signatures simultaneously does not work. I could care less who taught you otherwise.

Amit 06-13-2006 12:30 AM

Go tell that to Bartok, Glass, or even, Meshuggah :-\

Futuro 06-13-2006 12:35 AM
Go tell that to Bartok, Glass, or even, Meshuggah :-\
Get it through your skull! You cannot play 2 time signatures simultaneuosly as a drummer.

Josiah 06-13-2006 12:36 AM

Could you please show us some actual written music, or perhaps even write some outyourself that uses this multiple time signature theory?

By the way, here's the dictionary deffinition of the term time signature, I'm sure you'll find it the same in your peabody texts -

time signature
n. Music A sign placed on a staff to indicate the meter, commonly a numerical fraction of which the numerator is the number of beats per measure and the denominator represents the kind of note getting one beat.

Now how can you have 2 of those at the same time? Further more, if some of the greatest and most complex pieces of music we know of, can be written in a single time signature, as they are.. then again, how does this other theory work?

Are you saying messugah is more complex then Bach? Rachmaninoff?

Anyone who knows anything about music theory knows a simple truth, anything can be written in the Key of C and in 4/4.

Amit 06-13-2006 12:42 AM

lmao bach and rachmaninoff are not some of the most complex pieces of music out there ahahahah

oh lord you guys crack me up

i just IM'd another excellent drummer i know and he said yes :-O

i'm not making this up honestly if you guys can prove me wrong i will gladly and immediately admit i was wrong
