Does this site load for any of you?

i am the robots 01-05-2008 04:20 PM

Doesn't for me, no.

okay 01-05-2008 04:22 PM

nope

NemesisDivina 01-05-2008 04:22 PM

****. that's my school website and I have these "article summaries" due on monday, but the worksheets that I'm supposed to do them on are posted online and I can't get to them because the stupid ****ing site crashed

i am the robots 01-05-2008 04:23 PM

That's no good. Just keep checking back like every half-hour or some shi.

Invicta_Veritas 01-05-2008 04:23 PM

Damn that sucks.

Reminds me I need to study for my return to school on Monday. I have a sink or swim recording session on the Control 24 and I'm not very versed in how to use the damn thing.

i am the robots 01-05-2008 04:24 PM

If it's any consolation, I almost had to repeat 10th grade because the summerschool site I had to use for Chem kept crashing.

NemesisDivina 01-05-2008 04:29 PM

Wow Mappy, that completely sucks. At least this class is some random minor bullshit elective class and I'm already doing pretty well in it... I guess I'll just go to the library during lunch and try to do the article summaries really quick.

Invicta_Veritas 01-05-2008 04:30 PM

Suuuuure....as soon as I announce that I won't be writing/recording any new material for quite some time, now Bled to Death starts to get popular..

This is retarded. I spent all night last night answering messages and dealing with pages of friend requests and filtering through comments.....

It wasn't supposed to happen that way.

It's cool though, I made up for the entire course in one week.

I really wish I could convince my parents to just let me take online courses, they don't believe me, but I learn a lot better on my own than in a classroom environment... I have issues with people, "telling me how it is..." even when it's a certified educator.

I guess that's why I want to be a teacher, cause I'm an arrogant prick who likes to tell other people how it is.

Nostalgia 01-05-2008 04:44 PM

Online classes are ridiculously easy. I took one last year and just bs'd my way through all the quizzes and when it came time for the tests I just put forth some effort and passed easily.

i am the robots 01-05-2008 04:47 PM

I took an online Geography course over the summer this past year because I needed one more credit to officially graduate from high school, and I totally knew like, all of the geographical shit in my Greek history class like woah.

Nostalgia 01-05-2008 04:50 PM

I'm going to have to take a P.E class online (lol) so I'm eligible to start college my senior year. Pretty excited.

NemesisDivina 01-05-2008 04:51 PM

Wtf? Does it like tell you to go run on a treadmill for a half hour?

Nostalgia 01-05-2008 04:53 PM

Hahaha, I think it's just a physical education class. It'd be gay if it required actual exercise.

i am the robots 01-05-2008 04:53 PM

How'd you fail Gym dude?

okay 01-05-2008 04:55 PM

im taking yoga for my pe credit

i am the robots 01-05-2008 05:02 PM

I wish I could do that.

I'm such a slacker, I'm just taking Modern European History and an English course this semester. But like, I can get away with it because I don't live on campus.

gmoneyguy 01-05-2008 05:40 PM

I'm taking American Gov't and World Religions. I'm taking mostly electives because I all I have left I can't take until I transfer.

Invicta_Veritas 01-05-2008 05:46 PM

Haha, I took some philosophy quiz, and this is what is gave me (most similar philosophies):

1. Nietzsche (100%)
2. Stoics (97%)
3. David Hume (89%)
4. Spinoza (81%)
5. Jean-Paul Sartre (75%)
6. Cynics (64%)
7. Thomas Hobbes (61%)
8. Ayn Rand (60%)
9. Kant (51%)
10. St. Augustine (44%)
11. Nel Noddings (43%)
12. Epicureans (38%)
13. Aristotle (36%)
14. Aquinas (31%)
15. Plato (27%)
16. Ockham (26%)
17. Jeremy Bentham (24%)
18. Prescriptivism (24%)
19. John Stuart Mill (8%)

Not to sound naive, but I honestly don't know who Neitzsche and Stoics are....should I and is thier work easy to find/worth looking into?

Tyler 01-05-2008 05:47 PM

You seriously don't know who Nietzsche is? God is dead?

NemesisDivina 01-05-2008 05:48 PM

You've never heard of the Stoics?

...Greek people. Stoic is named after 'stoa' which is the place they gathered to discuss philosophy.

I think that's what it means.

Tyler 01-05-2008 05:50 PM

Sartre really depresses me.

gmoneyguy 01-05-2008 05:50 PM

Nietzsche is incredibly easy to find. You'd probably like Thus Spoke Zarathustra. The stoics are a bunch Hellenistic philosophers. Wiki would help point you in a specific direction, as far as the stoics go.

I love Sartre, tbh. Have you read his lecture, Existentialism is a Humanism?
You seriously don't know who Nietzsche is? God is dead?
No. I'm sorry, I wish I could look smarter by saying I do, but I don't. I actually don't know who most of these people are, but since I scored as an exact match to those two, I'm now interested in what works they might have.....

Thanks guitrguy, btw what's your name...I feel retarded always referring to you as "guitar guy"....

Tyler 01-05-2008 05:52 PM

Then look into them for sure.
