Unless your beliefs are the same as mine, then yes I believe he and I have the correct thoughts reguarding religion.

But it's our belief. Is this new to you?
Yes it was.
magicbus 04-26-2005 09:10 PM

CSNY - 4 Way Street came out in 1971!

Speaking of that, can anybody send it to me? ;)

I'm not saying it is not offensive to you, but I do not think you are understanding it.
go church so me and my friends won't die
Won't die? What?

Fall = lose faith/go to Hell

And he is not stating that because he “goes to church” he and his friends will go to Heaven. He believes that they will go to Heaven, because they accept and most likely support/share his belief. For if they didn't, he would not consider them a friend. As he said, "for what is a friend who would want you to fall".

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 04-26-2005 11:13 PM

So if you don't share the same belief to hell with you?

clown_phobia 04-26-2005 11:53 PM

in your opinion, what song has Eric Clapton's best guitar playing?

White Room has a great solo.

Against Miik! 04-27-2005 12:16 AM

White Room sounds cool, but it's all D minor pentatonic with a wah. It is, however, still one of my favorite.

I have not heard them but Smilely Smile and Friends are both sopposed to be psychedelic.

In 30 years when Radiohead< Tool and bands like become "classic rock" will sabbath and the stones be "classic classic rock"?

Illmatic 04-27-2005 11:38 AM
in your opinion, what song has Eric Clapton's best guitar playing?
I've been partial to "Crossroads" and the Unplugged version of "Tears in Heaven" myself.
In 30 years when Radiohead< Tool and bands like become "classic rock" will sabbath and the stones be "classic classic rock"?
No.

lunch998 04-27-2005 12:43 PM

I'd agree on Crossroads, and I'm a sucker for the wah on Tales of Brave Ulysses.

Broken Arrow 04-27-2005 12:55 PM

I'd go Crossroads too.

I voted Clapton.

Badmoon 04-27-2005 12:59 PM
So if you don't share the same belief to hell with you?
Well, technically yes. But hey, I wouldn't mind if He showed a little sympathy towards you.

Yeah so hows this for a kick ass week, ok well I just found out I might be going to see Bob Dylan the same week as Deep Purple. My cousin is taking me, and that weekend his parents arn't gonna be there :smoke:.

Dylan and Deep Purple in the same week? Sounds like a good gig. I had plans to go to the purple concert with 4 friends, but nobody wants to drive to scranton or atlantic city (each way 2 1/2 hours). I dont see why they couldnt just play in Philly. They seem to be going right around it.

I couldn't get Dylan tickets. It probably would have sucked though, even though I think of Dylan as a hero, because my parents also love Dylan and would have insisted on going as well. Speaking of Dylan, I would just like to add that the Live '75, or Bootleg Series Volume 5 with the Rolling Thunder Revenue is absolutely incredible. Listened to it yesterday :D.

Crossroads blows me away every time I hear it.

White Room is pretty intense too.

I like his guitar licks during the third verse, behind Jack's voice. Then of course the jam at the end.

Seafroggys 04-27-2005 06:12 PM

^^^Yeah, that third verse is fricken killer.

White Room live is awesome (heard it on their farewell concert video)....the solo goes on for like 5 minutes.

ATM 04-27-2005 06:18 PM

Do any of you guys have some Johnny Winter mp3s? I requested it in the YSI thread, but I just wanted to check in here as well.

Classical Gas is very good, I'm learning to play it. Pretty hard, good fingerpickin song.

White Room and Crossroads are good(like Crossroads bass more than guitar)

Layla is good too.

lunch998 04-27-2005 07:47 PM

Jack Bruce wouldn't have Clapton steal all the spotlight, so he countered Eric's great solo in Crossroads with some of the best bass playing I've ever heard.

Glitterati 04-27-2005 07:51 PM

Whenever I hear the live version of Crossroads, and you hear the last line:

"Standing at the crossroads, believe I'm sinking down"

I'm always like "" at the end.
