My guitarists dad just bought a big 100 pack of ear plugs for us to use while we're practicing. Hes concered about our hearing seeing as we're young and practice together around 10 hours a week on average. They dont actually block the sound but cut down on everything you dont need to hear. You can still hear everything perfectly but it keeps it at a good volume.

Drum Phil 03-12-2006 01:52 PM

Todays band practice went well. Im gonna have to give our drummer a talking to though. Pinstripes + hydros + studio rings + aheads + ahead gloves = sad phil

Was he any good?

On another note, Im about to go on a rigious adventure. Im talking intense 6 mile trek in 2 foot snow blizzard conditions, down canyons and across ravines. Smoke pot in caves. With my ipod. To return to pizzas and root beer and warm surround sound.

fishbulb' 03-12-2006 01:57 PM

Wow that's a bad combination.

Seafroggys 03-12-2006 01:58 PM

pins and hydros? like top/bottom or just mismatched on different drums?

Loyton 03-12-2006 02:02 PM

Haha, gloves crack me up. I know they serve a purpose and everything, but I can NEVER take them seriously.

fishbulb' 03-12-2006 02:04 PM

If you wear gloves you lose the feeling of the stick.

Also, i've been playing guitar a little bit lately, so i've been getting calises (the dead skin that protects your fingers). And ever since i got them i can't hold onto a drumstick... Any ideas?

Also, i have a question about zildjian cymbals. ZBT ZXT Planet Z's, they all seem the same to me. What is the lowest end of these?

Drum Phil 03-12-2006 02:09 PM
Was he any good?
Yeah he was actually. Im gonna be having words though.
pins and hydros? like top/bottom or just mismatched on different drums?
Hydros on the bass batter and reso.

rockindrummer 03-12-2006 03:11 PM

I think planet Z's are the lowest of the low.

fishbulb' 03-12-2006 03:17 PM

Huh, i thought i saw them at 180 for a crash or something.

PremierManiac 03-12-2006 03:20 PM

I think that was 18.0. That's about what they're worth.

Pleaseme 03-12-2006 03:33 PM

I hate 'having words'. Because the person you're 'having words' with doesn't usually want to listen, however nicely you word it.

raz0r 03-12-2006 03:37 PM
I think that was 18.0. That's about what they're worth.
Corkofski 03-12-2006 03:49 PM

Drum Phil 03-12-2006 03:51 PM

Drum Phil 03-12-2006 03:56 PM

Corkofski 03-12-2006 03:57 PM

underage people, underage drunks, me included but id gone outside before they raided, blocked fire exit, locked due to huge amounts of chavs hanging outside.

that and the fact the venues front entrance is in the car park of about 6 law firms, no joke:S

so they arent going to be able to find a lawyer to fight for them, and until then its private partys with 2 peeps on stage, free entry since they are partys, and a bar with no age limit.

Janeway 03-12-2006 04:49 PM

I got a Dream Theater album.

I just...I wonder why they have such an awful singer when the rest of the band is talented. I HATE his voice.

rockindrummer 03-12-2006 04:52 PM

To tell the truth I havn't really ever heard any dream theater. I've wanted to but never have.

Drum Phil 03-12-2006 04:55 PM

What do you reckon to them then? Especially the guitar

Janeway 03-12-2006 04:56 PM

Hff.
It put me in a bad mood.
I need something really amusing or something really gay to watch.
Gah.

rockindrummer 03-12-2006 05:08 PM

That's pretty cool phil. The guitar is pretty cool. For the most part it is really chill.

Jezen 03-12-2006 05:18 PM

I have been invited to a concert with Airto Moreira this Friday, and also a private workshop with him the following morning. Unfortunately, because I will be attending a very fancy ball that my girlfriend is singing at, I won't be able to make it to the workshop....With AIRTO! :upset:

Im rather honoured to be in a band with him :)

milkmit 03-12-2006 05:27 PM

yay. set my kit up as a 4-piece (snare, bass, 10" & 14" toms, with ride pulled in close over the bass to the right) and I've never had more fun playing!

punkrocker2o1 03-12-2006 05:36 PM

I just had a soccer game (hardest one yet). We won 8-1 finishing the division league undefeated. I had a hatrick :). Now I went to a convenience store and bought rubber cement and freeze spray for my mohawk :D Then got a lot of pizza and chips and soda and am just hanging out in my basemt with a TV. Hopefully going to have band practice and my guitarist got AC/DC and Led Zep DVDs today :D What a great day. To bad its Sunday...

rockindrummer 03-12-2006 05:49 PM

^ Sounds like a sweet day man. I've done nothing. I got up rather late so all of my friends had either gone away or i couldn't get ahold of them so I've just chilled at home all day, played drums for a bit.

I don't have school tomorrow so i'm cool with it being a sunday.

Janeway 03-12-2006 06:10 PM

Oh great.
Why the hell does my sister feel so concerned with my school life?
She's acting like I'm an idiot for failing math and music theory.
First of all, we've got an incredibly inexperienced theory teacher. She doesn't teach us. She just writes examples and hands out homework. If I ask a question, then she can't explain it. So I fail.
And the only reason that cow passed math was because my mother blew $3,000 on a learning center. The only reason she got 5 points higher than me on the Math A was because of that.
I got an 82 ON MY OWN.
Not to mention the fact that she only passed with the exact amount of credits required.
She's not that smart, especially common sense wise.
She's such a social moron that she's a 21 year old virgin who smells like the crust from a transvestite's anal patty. I'm 17, gay, and I still get laid more than her.
She acts like I'm some freak because I don't have that many friends.
Well, right now in my life, there are a lot of limits in the people that I can hang out with who aren't going to drag me into their hormonal stupor. And she forgets how disgusting her friends are.

OOOOh, and great!
Now she's going to kick me off the computer so she can do her all important homework . Well, I think I'm going to go take a shit in the lining of the seats in her precious car.
