Nice, I still haven't listened to it but 5 for a CD is good, esp Canadian
Yeah, it's like $19.99 in stores, so I think I got a good deal.:p

chumpradio 04-05-2006 01:50 PM

My girlfriend actually owns Straylight Run's s/t. It was the craziest thing ever when I was at her house and found it. She had no idea who they were, hadn't listened to it, and said her dad just randomly gave it to her once, and then I played it to her and got her hooked. Same story with Jimmy Eat World - Futures.
Her dad must be a pretty cool guy if he likes JEW and SR.

So I went to my music shop today. I don't have money but I still finally got a copy of Your Favorite Weapon, because it was $7 :D

If I get a discount on vinyls though, I'ma buy so much at their end of the year sale though...seeing as lots of ones I'd love to get are $9-12, so I'd get them for $7-10...
Message me on AIM, I'll send it over

Well, it's just that it looks like a little kid scratched it out. With all the stray black lines, and such. It's just kinda plain and lame.

Marigold demo!

BridgeToSolace 04-05-2006 02:54 PM

Two million unique hits would be very, very hard. Let alone getting people to refresh the page that many times.

Kif 04-05-2006 03:00 PM

It's possible though, and I'm sure this link will spread through the Internet like AIDS

BridgeToSolace 04-05-2006 03:14 PM

I'd be willing to bet (hah!) that the whole story about it is fake.

Probably just a smart guy who realizes that internet nerds tend to want to get people laid, seeing as they themselves cannot get laid. The dude sees that he can get a bunch of hits this way, and gets a sponsor.

You think a big company like gamefly will sponsor someone just just so that the guy can get laid? And what bandwith costs? That web page is bare. Sure, there are monthly fees, but he'll never pay anything neer the cost of real websites. He doesn't need a sponsor. Real men would be willing to pay for a threesome out of their own pockets.

Plus, that counter is iffy. I refreshed a page to add a hit, and then I looked at it again, and in less than 5 seconds it got about hundred hits. I refresh again, and the counter only goes up one. What?

cobert 04-05-2006 03:17 PM

Sup.

i seriously cant wait any longer, the next months is going to be insane with all the new CD's i need to get.

Kif 04-05-2006 03:22 PM

So I'm laying on my bed, listening to the Thursday sampler (Oh yes, it is awesome I might add), and my mum asks me a question.

Mum: Who is that you are listening to?
Me: Thursday
Mum: They're bloody mad!

This is the same woman who overheard me listening to The Fall Of Troy and Every Time I Die, and said she didn't mind listening to them.

Oh, found an interesting article. Apparently, the RIAA are encouraging college students who are struggling to pay settlement costs to drop out of college

She probably can't understand what TFOT and ETID are saying, and thus cannot asses that they're mad. She can understand Thrusday's lyrics, and can tell how mad they are. (or something, I haven't heard them yet).

Plus, don't listen to music out loud with people in the house. That's not nice at all. Headphones are the way to go.

Good point, although it was a pretty harsh Thursday song. I'd upload the sampler if I was allowed...

And I like listening through speakers since it doesn't hurt my ears (I have earphones, not headphones). Besides, she was in the next room and my door was open. It's not like it's blasting so loud she can hear it downstairs.

I always listen to music out loud. I see no problem with it, as long as it isn't really loud or something.

Unless you live in a one room apartment I guess. Or a barn.

I've decided not to go. I won't have enough money anyway, none of my mates are going and are instead going to Download, and the line-up doesn't appeal to me much.

How long do you think it would take to transfer 20GB of music from my Zen onto my Mactop?

I always found it rude any annoying to other people. I hate it when I'm trying to wank and I hear my sister playing Fall Out Boy from her room. Not that I mind fall out boy, but I don't want to listen to them right now, bitch, I'm wanking. It's not as if it's loud, but our rooms are on the same floor, and I have to leave the computer room door open (so that my parents know I'm not wanking  ).

There's no reason to listen to music out loud when there are other people around. They didn't ask to listen to your crappy music (meaning music that they probably don't like. I'd have to be playing Jethro Tull for my dad to like it :p ), leave it to yourself. You'd be pissed if your sister was playing 50 Cent in the room next to you, neh? You might not mind it, but you wouldn't like it. When no one is home I'll blast music, but otherwise, I just listen to loud headphones. My dad doesn't need to be listening to my music for me to enjoy myself.

Kif, get a pair of standard sony headphones. Their like $10-15 american and they last for months. Good quality, too.

Kiff, anywhere from 5-10 hours, depending on how fast your computer is. My computer does 500 songs per hour, my sister's can do 1000 an hour.

Mute Print 04-05-2006 04:01 PM

You make it sound as though you live in a house of no more than 30 sq ft. :p

When I'm upstairs, and my family is downstairs where they can't hear it anyway, why should I bother using headphones. If anything, headphones are a hassle.

Dead Star 04-05-2006 04:02 PM

Why does nobody have big Avatars anymore?

cobert 04-05-2006 04:03 PM

I live with my mum. I don't have brothers or sisters to worry about, and she isn't too big a music fan in the first place. So I've always been used to playing my music fairly loud. Besides which, my room is on one side of the house, the living room is on the other. Both are on seperate floors. I've played my music at the regular volume and gone downstairs while the TV is on, and I can't hear a thing.

I do have an annoying habit of playing my MP3 player too loud though. I've had people turn around and give me an odd look (I remember this old lady turning around on the bus while TFOT - "Ghostship Pt 4" was blasting away, and she looked like The Rock), and even had some just tell me to turn it down. I've tried to tone that down, but when you are playing it through earphones it should be more understandable.

As for headphones, I'm not a fan. Now that I have a laptop it seems a little pointless for me to use them. As well as this, headphones really hurt my left ear.

Eh, my dad's den and my computer room (where we spend 95% of our home-and-awake time) are seperated by a wall, and my parent's bedroom door is about ten feet away from me :p . We have a huge house, we just don't use it.

Speakers just aren't worth the effort. They'll never sound as good as headphones, and I like to listen to music really loudly, and to get the same kind of volume with speakers, you'd be able to hear it throughout the house. Headphones are really easy. You put them on, and they stay on, always in the same position (more or less). You don't have to worry about positioning your speakers for optimum sound quality and balance, and if you have to go to the bathroom or leave the room, you can just bring your headphones with you (since mine are always with my Creative, that's where all my music is anyway) without having to worry about anything. So much more convenient.

I do the same thing while I'm walking in the hallways at school, or at lunch, when it's loud and I want to drown everyone out. Hey, if people are giving you odd looks, though, turn your music the **** down. It's not right to bother people like that. If I'm in a quiet classroom, I'd never listen to music as loudly as I do otherwise.

Then get a pair of high quality headphones that go around the ear and don't touch it much. You'll look a little silly, but it'll be musical heaven, and also cover your ear from other noise, so it doesn't need to be as loud.

I hate listening to music really loud, especially on headphones.

Concerts are obviously a different story.

Pazz 04-05-2006 04:27 PM

I always listen to my music out loud. My parents complain once in a while, and I turn it down. But, my mom spent like $200 on our speaker, I might as well use them.

I agree there though, I don't listen to music as loudly as I used to. Maybe 20/25 on volume, which is loud enough for me and can't be heard by other people.

It's not that, it's the tip of my ear that was cut when I was hit by a van like 2 years ago. It hurts to put pressure on it, and I don't want to look like a twat. I paid good money for my earphones (Sony, about £30), and I love them. I'm just used to earphones.

This conversation came about as the result of you saying that your mom heard Thursday and Everytime I Die and TFOT. Which she couldn't have heard if...she couldn't hear your music like you say you can't. Learn to be consistant, please.
Oh, and you listen to music in class?
When I'm allowed to. During busywork, generally. My World History teacher lets us listen to music during tests. She's the best ever.
