Hahaha I don't think anyone really knows. All we know is it's as old as time.
|
Hmm, oh well. The point being something happened somewhere at sometime.
 Well said. |
Rippa: OH man how good was his voice aye, i never expected that.
Yeah Leaving Beirut was amazing, i saw everyone who had bought the little program thing reading through the comic before the show started too haha, when the song started i finally realised what it was. A show i won't forget |
Oh **** yeah. The pyrotechnics was awesome too. And I loved the extended On The Run with video.
|
Haha yeah, the people near me got the shit scared out of them when the weird bits in On The Run came on.
And yeah the Lights, Explosions and floating Astronaut/Pig were great. |
Did the sudden train in On the Run cause you guys to soil your pants also?
Roger would be the next Plexi
 |
My interest is piqued by this On The Run business.
If anyone feels like it, please elaborate a little. |
Well I don't wanna spoil, but if you insist :)
possible roger waters concert spoiler but not really =/ Basically, the video clip during On the Run has some wicked rainbow graphics and awe-inspiring animations, which are infrequently interrupted by pant-shitting quick cuts of trains and explosions which are very loud and scary :( Now I've told you, you'll probably be expecting it :P |
Heh, I saw something similar to that in a bootleg video I used to have of a Roger Waters concert.
|
Did the sudden train in On the Run cause you guys to soil your pants also?
Yeah wasn't expecting it at all. The cars bit I sort of saw coming though after the train. |
Oh, and JayLink is a poster on R&M who seems to be in a fairly successful band.
But I doubt RedDebil knows him. |
Oh ok thanks.
To be honest I don't really feel like just blindly believing some guy just saying he know's Roger. For all we know he might, im just saying. |
I've just been watching a few of the bootlegs from the Sydney concert i went to. That was such a good night :)
There was discussion before about Any Colour You Like and the 2 guitars played back and forth in stereo and stuff like that, how'd you guys like that bit during the concert? Haha oh yeah, and how cool was the startup bit with the old radio |
Haha yer, when they played Abba and changed stations real quick. I love his sense of humour. So where did you get these bootlegs?
|
Haha that was the one that stuck in my mind too :p
Just searched Roger Waters Acer Arena in youtube to find ones from that concert, where did you go? EDIT: Haha oh, forgot to mention in last post that it was youtube i found them on <_< |
you guys are so lucky. I still can't believe I completely missed his North American tour. I've been toying with the idea of travelling to somewhere in Europe for fun this spring/summer. It so happens that Roger will be in England and Ireland in May so I'm considering trying to go to one of those shows.
I did see him in Denver, Colorado when I was 15 or 16. It was the In the Flesh tour several years ago, but my memory of it is fading. |
Oh, and JayLink is a poster on R&M who seems to be in a fairly successful band.
But I doubt RedDebil knows him.
I read him (RedDebil) post somewhere that they were in the band together. I don't know, we might want to ask him himself though. |
There's a thread in Jam Sessions where he pretty much says he isn't Jaylink, or the Guitarist for Death and Taxes (Jays band) so i dunno  , doesn't really matter anyway.
|
page turn
|
high hopes is quickly becoming one of my favorite floyd songs.
the slide solo at the end...its just so sexy |
Agreed :D
I love Davids slide guitar playing, in songs like Breathe it just tops it off for me <_< |
I think his best slide playing is One Of These Days.
|

ok then. I read it in a thread that was originally posted in Guitar, but someone posted his post in the pit. But yeah, it really doesn't matter. Someone should still ask him about the Waters story :D |
David's slide playing is one of my favorite things in the Pink Floyd Sound.
|
Agreed :D
I love Davids slide guitar playing, in songs like Breathe it just tops it off for me <_<
But Roger played that I thought |
I've never heard that before, but I suppose he could have on the album.
But David always plays it live, which leads me to believe he played it on Darkside as well. |
No, Dave definitely did all the slide work.
|
the floyd laser show is in town...ima go see it :]
pleeeeaaaaaasssseeeeeee play high hopes |
I want to see that so damn bad.
Does it tour? I thought there were places that always had it playing. Maybe I need to check it out a little more. |
yea there is.
i just found a place nearby that plays it every friday  |
Nice. I found a place that does laser floyd every Friday and Saturday night. They do The Wall, that should rock.
|
yea i think it's just a full straight-through run of the wall?
edit: how does david play those really high notes at the end of high hopes? it's the equivalent of frets 30 adn higher O_o |
Pretty much, ya. They skip Run Like Hell and The Trial, but they play those as encores apparently. So they're just out of place.
And I would imagine he's using harmonics for those notes, or he could just be bending the notes to reach that high. I dont know. |
harmonics maybe...they're damn clean then. they dont -sound- like pinches and bending even a 24th fret doesnt get that high :]
anyway, im pumped for this laser show. i think ill give the wall a straight run-through listen again |
Dave Gilmour doesn't let frets hold him back.
|
Yeah and who needs strings.
|
Or a guitar. Gilmour on the air guitar would still sound sweet to the ears.
|
yea i think it's just a full straight-through run of the wall?
edit: how does david play those really high notes at the end of high hopes? it's the equivalent of frets 30 adn higher O_o
slide guitar dubbed in probably |
slide guitar dubbed in probably
It's a slide guitar solo. For songs like Marooned I guess he used an octave pedal though to get those reallly high pitches. |
Yeah, Marooned is definitely an octave pedal.
High Hopes is slide guitar. You don't really need frets up that high :p |
