I learned BoR too. Cant play it too fast but my cousin can. She doesnt like CoB but she plays keyboards
What's difficult to play in that song? the keyoboardist in my band can play it at double speed haha...at least the intro. cos I dunno if he has learned anything else from that song so....

Shadows 09-04-2005 01:30 PM
I didn't say I didn't like it, I like it a lot, it just seems like there is less solos then their other albums.
YOU FOOL! GGGGGGGGRRRRRRAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyhoo, back to reality. Yes, the soloing has been toned down quite a bit in favor of riffs and heaviness, but I think Alexi pulled it off beautifully.

FlyingPaul_83 09-04-2005 01:33 PM

Yes, The riffs are absolutely increible.

I shall buy this the day it comes out...............If it's at best buy or circiut city.

dest. Chaos 09-04-2005 01:39 PM

does any1 have a link where I can download all the songs from the new album? cos I miss four. I saw a link here earlier today but it didn't work.

Ramsey 09-04-2005 01:41 PM

I just got the new album, its REALLY good. really great, and I might actually have to buy this one to support them coming to the U.S. and touring. Oh man, its SO good.

Shadows 09-04-2005 01:54 PM

I still haven't listened. :(

Here's what I'm going to do: I'm going to go cut the grass, walk down to the locl convenience stort and buy myself an enormous energy drink (they don't work, I just love the taste), and then come back and write reviews of the new Bodom and some Berzerker. I'm psyched.

I've heard TL&S and IYF. I was holding out for the entire album to leak so I could give it all one big listen. I'd only heard those other two because they had been officially released.

Well in that case, I'm glad to hear it. :)

kidthatplaysguitar91 09-04-2005 02:13 PM

new album is good

Ramsey 09-04-2005 02:14 PM

But hey, don't expect Bodom. It sounds extremely different. Theres alot of melodic Death influence, rather than power metal. So listen to it with an open mind and you just may love it.

Shadows 09-04-2005 02:16 PM

That's what I'm expecting. Judging from In Your Face, there aren't really "Industrial" elements like Alexi said, but there's definitely am heavier style with melodic death influences. I love the little bit I've heard.

metalhead_matt 09-04-2005 02:25 PM

I dont mind what new taking it has, I love follow the reaper and this album

AA-12 09-04-2005 02:35 PM
I just got the new album
Thanks to me :p

We should try going to the same show if they come here.

Shadows 09-04-2005 03:46 PM

Everyone should go to the same show I'm going to.

Where do y'all live?

FlyingPaul_83 09-04-2005 03:52 PM

New Mexico :upset:

AA-12 09-04-2005 04:37 PM

Florida.

Shadows 09-04-2005 04:43 PM

Ouchtown. Everyone meet me at my Toledo home and we'll take a drive up to Detroit to see CoB.

AA-12 09-04-2005 04:44 PM

I would actually do that, haha.

Hells Bells 09-04-2005 04:50 PM

I live outside TO, that's were all the shows around here are...it takes like 45 minutes to get there.

Shadows 09-04-2005 04:58 PM
I would actually do that, haha.
I know. But you'd have to leave a day early just for the drive.

It would be worth it though. If we got the entire Crew to go we'd make quite a presence. :)

EDIT: The live song poll on cobhc.com has ended!

Hmmm. Their more recent albums have disappointed me. But I've been getting word from others that it's really good.

ATTN: HELP WANTED

Here's the thing, my friends. I'm about to start writing my AYDY review for sputnik, but I'd like some input. I'd really like to go the extra mile with this one and include some things you wouldn't normally see around MX's review section. I've already got plans to include audio and video uploads, pictures, and maybe some interview links. What do you guys think I should do? Do you have any ideas for what kind of format I could use or what other things I could see? Just think about what kinds of things you'd like to have and what might make an otherwise boring collection of text into an interesting read. I appreciate any help you can give me with this.

Moses 09-04-2005 06:07 PM

Just so you know, you can use Tinyurl.com to pass the YSI block so it won't look as stupid with hxxp crap.

Is it just me or are all the songs on FTR starting to sound the same, bar Kissing the Shadows? I'm starting to prefer HCDR. I also hope this new album is as good as people say it is.

spitfirejunky 09-04-2005 06:11 PM
Perhaps I should kill you. :p
Hatebreeder and Something Wild are where it's at. The rest didn't really interest me, even though Hate Crew Deathroll and Follow the Reaper have their moments.

I agree. Aside from Follow the Reaper, Something Wild is definitely my favorite. I've always been the only one though. Everyone else says i's their worst, but I have countless fond memories of SW.

Megaupload has unlimited uploads and doesn't block but I find the countdown and dropdown box blocking the 'download' button annoying as fuck.

I have never found any song on Follow the Reaper similar to another. If you love Hatecrew Deathroll, than you'll most likely like the new stuff, even though they're using less power metal stuff than ever.

Kreator2112 09-04-2005 07:15 PM

i dont even listen to cob anymore, they bore me ;/

The Buttloaves 09-04-2005 07:41 PM

Bastards of Bodom is insane. It's got an extremely catchy riff that will get stuck in your head, like Hate Me. I think it's the new Kissing the Shadows. But it doesn't have a solo, which is I think the first time I've ever heard Alexi not play a solo. It's kind of cool though, because now I have a chance of playing a Bodom song all the way through.

Sick Boy 09-04-2005 07:51 PM

Amon Amarth shouldn't be opening up for CoB.

CoB should be opening up for Amon Amarth.

The pics/videos sound like a great idea. Maybe put something in from interviews you find, like Alexi's thoughts on the album, and post links to the actual interviews at the end. If you do a song-by-song breakdown of the album, you could include short clips from each song that support the description you're giving of it.
