It is isn't it. The "She never really had a chance on that fateful moonlit night." is so beautiful. This song is the song for me that confirms James's vocal brilliance and diversity...

What do you think is Labrei's best live vocals, I was listening to the live songs on ACOS and his vocals are incredible compaired to Budokan and LSFNY. |

I'm not really a fan of that song. It's OK as part of SFAM but on it's own it's not a song I ever want to listen to.
What do you think is Labrei's best live vocals, I was listening to the live songs on ACOS and his vocals are incredible compaired to Budokan and LSFNY.
Live at the Marquee I'd say, although i think a lot of them were recorded again for the CD so it's not technically all live. However his best live vocals have to be when I saw them last Monday/Tuesday :D |
It seems like he can't control his voice live anymore. When you listen to Live at the Marquee and Once In a Live Time he has an incredible powerful voice, but on Budokan and LSFNY and when I saw them in Wovlerhamton, he just can't sing that well. At some points it's painful to listen to it's that bad.

What?!?! In London he was on fire, his voice was incredible. |
He was good at Wolverhampton, but it's just that he can't sing as well as he used to. His best vocals were in Under a Glass Moon in Wolves, he got that high note real good. no TIME to dissapear.

I think he's alot better than most vocalist, the only vocalist I think can rival him is Daniel Gildenlow. I also think that he was awesome in London, a few 'sack-attacks'here and there but it's to be expected. 90% incredible is better than 100% good. |
I like those stats I must say.:naughty:
|
Pardon me?
|
90% incredible is better than 100% good.
Those stats, if that's what they would be called:naughty: . I've got to stop using that Smilie now. |
If you watch LSFNY..is it me, or does JLB look alot like Meatloaf?
|
All my friends say I look like Meatloaf.
|
i thought james was perfect on wednesday, besides the 2 majesty songs. i was right by the speakers on the right and the sound wasn't that great so maybe that affected it, but it was the best i've heard him singing live in years (judging from bootlegs/live dvds).
on budokan on the higher or louder parts he just seems to shout the words, not caring about the pitch or anything. last week though he was even adding in high notes where before he'd have just sung an octave lower. |

I totally agree. Although I've only seen them on this tour and the Train Of Thought tour, I was more impressed with his voice this time round; I can't think of any faults he made and he put alot of energy into his performance. |
If you watch LSFNY..is it me, or does JLB look alot like Meatloaf?
Yes but at least he doesn't have heart attacks on stage. |
And Meatloaf is past it. James and DT are no-where near done.

Is Octavarium going to be DT's last album? If it is, it better not be there last tour. |
Not at all. In the programme, James Labrie says,
"It's hard to believe it's been 20 years, it feels like we're just getting into a real cool place abd groove. Here's to many more years of new music and tours. See you there." I seriously doubt I'd survive them breaking up :upset: |

I hope they do a tour of different albums, cause I wanna see them play SFAM all the way through...that would be ultimate. |
That was amazing. Sorry. But I had to say!
|
I'm starting to get into Awake now, Voices, The Mirror and Lie are class. I just can't see myself thinking it's better than I&W.

He damaged his vocal chords and stopped taking care of himself for a while. (hence the looking like Meatloaf in LSFNY) Recently (the past couple years) he's been training with a vocal coach and taking care of himself, hence looking and sounding much better at Budokan than LSFNY. Apparently, at I think the London gig, he even hit the high F# in Learning to Live, so he's getting back to where he was. |

That's an odd way to put it. |

Yeah, that was amazing. He doesn't even attempt it on LSFNY. |
I love that note in "learning to LIVE!"
It's an excellent song all round... |

And on the interview with him on the documentry on the Budokan Bonus disc, a women is interviewing him, and he's sitting there with a bass. |
John's become my favorite bass player.
I'm learning Metropolis Pt.1 on bass. Hard as shit, but it'll be worth it. |

It's even harder on a 4 string. The rest of the song other than the solo isn't too bad though.
|

I've got my 5 string, so I can learn pretty much any song :D |
I never really got into learning to live because i was always playing the intro on piano, and didn't get any further than that, and i haven't really listened to it that much.

It's one of DT's best songs in my opinion. Seeing it live really convinced me that it was. |
Triangle, your user title sounds dirty.
And yeah, Learning To Live is amazing. |
