Back to the churches v cults.

I founded my own church 4 years ago. It's called the T-ist Church, we've got 10 members breaking our backs in the name of Mr. T.

Do you believe in your God like me? Does your God pity the fool?

Riva 11-14-2004 12:04 AM

Ok, thanks for ignoring my attempt to change the topic. Your church seems somewhat heretical. Are you sure it isn't a cult? A grim, necro, tr00 cult?

i am the robots 11-14-2004 12:04 AM
But, don't churches come under scutiny a lot for certain practices around children?
You gotta hook em when they're young.... that way they make for better lovers.

Bartender 11-14-2004 01:24 AM

You do, though.

Bartender 11-14-2004 01:27 AM

Apparently Kirk Cobain was shot by Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Permanent Solution 11-14-2004 01:36 AM

Nice.

Bartender 11-14-2004 01:49 AM

Yes, I thought.

Permanent Solution 11-14-2004 02:14 AM

That was a joke right, not an idiot?

Bartender 11-14-2004 02:22 AM

I have no idea. Either way, it made me laugh for a short while, so I'm thankful.

James Van Halen 11-14-2004 02:45 AM

Cain 11-14-2004 02:59 AM

The threadstarter had to be one of the dumber ones I've seen on the forum for a while. Kirk Cobain I can let slide, but by Jennifer Love Hewitt I'm just itching to start a literacy class for mentally lethargic children.

BoboTheRagingHobo 11-14-2004 03:12 AM

You know what? Fuck Sunday. I have to move and then stack a cord of wood tommorrow...this sucks.
You know what? Fuck Sunday. I have to move and then stack a cord of wood tommorrow...this sucks.
Why?

Riva 11-14-2004 03:53 AM

Wow. 900 posts in two years. That is quite impressive. :)
Hey, check that out. 900 posts in two years; feel like a spammer yet, zepfan?
Hey mod, stfu ;)

Naw, I just spend a lot of time here. I made about 50 posts in politics yesterday in all of say...2 hours. I don't really spam that much heh, the most pointless posts I make are in the community threads :p

Besides, I have stars...
/my excuse for everything

Riva 11-14-2004 03:55 AM

Stars my arse. And we all know that DRybes is the winner of the ppd award. He topped out at 115 at one time.

Erm...he has over 300 right now I believe...

Bartender 11-14-2004 03:57 AM

Drybes cheated, since he got all his old posts but not his old join date. The Trooper all the way!

It's just that posting attitudes have changes. In my first year and a half or so (up to around November/December 03) I racked up a massive 400 posts.

Permanent Solution 11-14-2004 04:04 AM

Drybes only has 8 ppd on me right now, I could catch that...Anyways, night all

Bartender 11-14-2004 04:06 AM

Night zepfan. I'm actually gonna go for a while too, I need to have a shower and get sorted out. Got visitors coming, for once.

Riva 11-14-2004 04:08 AM

Fine, don't say goodbye to me.

Bartender 11-14-2004 04:56 AM

Hello!

Riva 11-14-2004 04:58 AM

Hello! Goodbye! See you in about 12 hours.

Bartender 11-14-2004 05:00 AM

All offline, eh. See you later, then.

BoboTheRagingHobo 11-14-2004 05:02 AM
Why?
Becuase my family does not believe in using the heat system in our house since it can cost up to 200 dollars a month to use it during the winter. So we have a wood stove and have to buy wood every year and stack it under a sheltered spot every time we get it so it stays dry...

It sucks hardcore, its always cold in my house.

BoboTheRagingHobo 11-14-2004 08:01 AM

Anyone still around? I am pulling an all nighter since its so early and I have to wake up early anyways...

the2stranger 11-14-2004 09:01 AM

LoveBuzzed 11-14-2004 11:38 AM

Back to the forums after being gone for almost three months.
Nobody probably be remembers me but that's cool.
Anyways, it's 12:34 in the afternoon here. Almost homework time.

DeusExMachina 11-14-2004 12:40 PM

Hey Zepfan, I read that little philosophy thing in your profile... some really interesting points. However, some if it seems a little unclear to me. Why is religion the only basis for morals? If one were to live in that "clean" environment you speak of, and then they had their loved ones killed by a psychopath, they would feel wronged. That develops a sense of morals, "murder is bad." To develop a sense of morality, all we need is a template to compare it to, we don't necessarily need something like religion. A better way to explain this is through colors. Your "clean" environment is a black and white environment, not in that its simplified to good and bad, but rather that there are no colors or "moral codes" to define it. However, as soon as color of some sort is introduced, you compare these new colors, or moral actions, to the morals of the "black" and the "white." Religion is only one template of color, but there are infinite templates or arrangements of color that can define morality in man. Also, while its true that wholescale "perfection" is impossible, as there is nothing that all people will agree with. However, if I and a friend of mine agree that something is the best it can be, then it is perfect to us, isn't it? If people were stranded on an island and had no concept of other people being alive, or of anything even existing beyond their island, and that small group agreed something was perfect, then they have attained some sort of perfection in their eyes. Just my ideas, however. Could be wrong.

You've got some cool stuff that you talk about, I'd love to have a discussion with you about it sometime.

Permanent Solution 11-14-2004 01:46 PM

Definitely. I don't want to fill up the community board with it, but I can explain those points to you in breif here, and more indepth later. If you are in my clean society, and you have no morals, and then you kill someone, they would not be bothered because it isn't wrong. If, on the other hand, it felt wrong to do it, no one would ever kill someone else. Even if it was a consensus of everyone they knew it would not be perfection because there would be too little input. It must include the entirety of everyone, because there is a degree of societal perfection that can exist, though the contrsts of culture is what makes perfection impossible. In your hypothetical situation, there would be a local perfection present, but I don't believe even that would ever happen. People always argue.

Dancin' Man 11-14-2004 02:20 PM

For the record, feedthegods666 was going on a ppd of about 120 for a solid week. I hated/hate him for hitting on girls on an internet forum and just making stupid comments in general. The answer to all questions is, "shut up before I kill you."
