Aww but quaters in England are like...8ths
Alright then. Since mods aren't allowed to express their opinion anymore, I'll bury the hatchet.

Sorry, IheartSP, for assuming that I can say what I think on the internet. Sorry I hurt your feelings, it was unintentional, I assure you.
thats a good Riva...now bend over moddy

Shattered_Future 01-19-2006 05:41 PM

Time out.

If you guys want to make a porno, not on here. This is a G-rated forum.

Riva 01-19-2006 05:42 PM

Me? I'm just bending over to pick up a quarter. :p

shadow_stalker 01-19-2006 05:42 PM

Trev 01-19-2006 05:44 PM

Rocket Ride is out tommorow, I downloaded the promo and its quite good, but I'll buy it when I go see them live.
Me? I'm just bending over to pick up a quarter. :p
Let's hope so, or else the psychotic Veggietales will come and shoot you with a 9mm for not being a faithful Christian.

I've watched too much weird TV...

Is Mandrake their new album, or was that rereleased? I got a copy that said 2005 release on it, I think...

Then I lost the goddamn cd.

shadow_stalker 01-19-2006 05:46 PM

its a rerelease as far as i know.

and now im off to wimbledon...or to order the knew album either/or is fine

EDIT: amazon dont have it! HERASY BURN THEM ALL!!!

IheartSP 01-19-2006 05:54 PM

I already put up the white flag in the Bodom thread so I guess that means I can give posting here another shot, hopefully I can make it a week or two before betting flamed like hell again.

I've got 30 dollars to Amazon, I've been contemplating on which Blind Guardian album to get. It's between A Night At the Opera and Imaginations From the Other Side. The impression that I get from reviews is that they are both really good with a lot of ups and a few downs, but NATO has less of that heavy sound with lots of solos, while IFTOS still has a lot of speed metal influence from their early days. I've only heard one song off each, Battlefield and Bright Eyes, which are supposedly not the best by any means off of either.

I've got Nightfall In Middle Earth btw, it's one of my all time favorites.

Stoic 01-19-2006 06:15 PM

Mordred's song off IFTOS might convince you ;)

Did you all listen to the new BG samples?

IheartSP 01-19-2006 06:17 PM

When is their next album coming out, and where can I get my hands on these samples? Oh and have they replaced Thomen?

Stormrider 01-19-2006 06:18 PM
Mordred's song off IFTOS might convince you ;)

Yup. But you know that from me cuz of the BG thread.

I think ive only heard the self titled song from IFTOS. That song is all i need to want it though.

Stoic 01-19-2006 06:35 PM

^HUGE BG fan in the making \m/
When is their next album coming out, and where can I get my hands on these samples? Oh and have they replaced Thomen?
Yes, the have replaced him with a fairly unknown guy

The new single is coming is February and here are the samples:
http://www.nuclearblast-musicshop.de/index.php?cPath=132892&band_id=1543

The new album was about to come out in spring but due to Hansi's problems it was postponed (sp?) for summer.

Shattered_Future 01-19-2006 07:33 PM

I don't have IFTOS, but ANATO is one of the most awesome cds I've ever heard. Well worth your money.

Stormrider 01-19-2006 07:44 PM
I don't have IFTOS, but ANATO is one of the most awesome cds I've ever heard. Well worth your money.
Ive heard almost everysong from that album and theres not one I dont like.

I love Soulforged.

Shattered_Future 01-19-2006 07:47 PM

I think my personal favorite is Precious Jersualem. The drum fills in that song are absolutely crushing.

Out of curiosity (I may have asked this already), what do Bal-Sagoth fall under? They have that Rhapsody like superepic feel to them, but their vocalist isn't exactly power metal...

Deth 01-19-2006 07:49 PM

And Then There Was Silence is incredibly good, by far my favorite on that album.

Stormrider 01-19-2006 07:52 PM
And Then There Was Silence is incredibly good, by far my favorite on that album.
Sadly, first time i heard that song, i found it long and kind of boring...listened to it more times and now its great ! Hansi is incredible in that song...well the whole album too.

Does he do all the vocal harmonies for that song ?

Shattered_Future 01-19-2006 07:53 PM

No, they had a choir perform with the band on that album.

Stormrider 01-19-2006 07:56 PM
No, they had a choir perform with the band on that album.
Oh okay.

I would go out and order the rest of the discography if i had the money. Well the studio ones for now..

Shattered_Future 01-19-2006 08:00 PM

I should get a BG DVD the next time I get ahold of some cash...

Lord Abortion 01-20-2006 03:19 AM
No way. They are about as Power Metal as they are Melodic Death.

I can agree they were the single largest influence on power metal, but calling them power metal themselves is like calling Judas Priest power metal.
Exactly, it's like calling Venom Black metal...

Oh, X-factor stuff.

The edge of Darkness
The aftermath
Fortunes of war
Judgement of heaven
Blood on the world's hands

some of my favourites from there.

I would get the BG live album, it's seriously good.

I've always been curious of how they sound live. Without the millions of vocal and guitar harmonies I would think the sound is pretty different.

Lord Tim 01-20-2006 05:58 AM

Hey, guys!

Spam ahoy off the port bow! Yarr!

Just letting you all know that the new LORD site has just been launched! :)

www.lord.net.au

Hope you like it! :)

Apocalyptic Raids 01-20-2006 06:13 AM

Excellent. Reminds me of another site i've been to though.

I can't quite remember which.

shadow_stalker 01-20-2006 06:35 AM

Someone has stolen my name on the LORD forums

BTW nice site Tim and the songs are sounding goooooooooooood

HAHA! I knew there was a reason I explained that in the FAQ: www.lord.net.au/faq.html :p

Riva 01-20-2006 08:40 AM

I hope this new band comes to Cairns. They sound really cool. It'd be really cool if a member of that band would see this and tour to Cairns. Yeah, Cairns.

Sweet.

When is A personal Journey going to be available in Europe?

I'm trying to find it as an Aussie import, but without all that much luck...

Lord Tim 01-20-2006 08:56 AM

Good question!

Check out http://www.moderninvasionmusic.com to try to get it from there in the meantime.

We're working on an international deal for LORD now but there's some political stuff we need to get past first (always industry politics, yay! *sigh*) so it may not be 'til later on in the year.

Lord Abortion 01-20-2006 09:01 AM

That's cool, I have it for under £9 on Amazon.

Lord Tim 01-20-2006 09:26 AM

See if that's the 2005 re-release, that's a lot better than the original version. :)

So...this is what influenced the name!
There's not much info on it. No release date I don't think.

Lord Tim 01-20-2006 09:47 AM

HAHAHA! That's the second funniest thing I've seen tonight!

The best (worst?) one was that Dungeon's Japanese Fan site posted up a joke cover I made for the last Dungeon album "The Final Chapter" as the image to their frontpage, thinking it was real! :amaze:

http://www.dungeonjapan.com

Note to self: Don't make joke covers anymore! :(

Riva 01-20-2006 09:50 AM

I think you should stick to your music Tim. :p

EDIT: Please please please please come to Cairns.

Lord Tim 01-20-2006 09:53 AM

What is the metal scene like in Cairns anyway?

Riva 01-20-2006 09:57 AM
What is the metal scene like in Cairns anyway?
About 4 or 5 thrash bands that play the local pubs. Maybe 1 or 2 nu-metal acts that are halfway decent. Not a lot, really.

Plenty of metal heads though. And we do have quite a few hard rock acts come up here.

Lord Tim 01-20-2006 10:13 AM

If someone's willing to put on a decent sized show, we'd be interested in chatting to them.

I think you guys should play at my high school. You'll get a turnout of 4 people.

Actually, that's more sad than funny...:upset:

Lord Abortion 01-21-2006 11:23 AM

I see Riva made some additions so his avatar.
I don't like that Tarot cover though, much.
