Excellent! I'm playing with the idea of downloading 'Gimme Fiction'. I just can't wait for the official release.

The Ashtray Girl 03-20-2005 09:19 AM

Today I love The Smiths.

Iai 03-20-2005 09:31 AM

Today and every day.

I'm reviewing a Bill Bailey album. So that.

The Ashtray Girl 03-20-2005 10:50 AM

Yayayay!

Iai 03-20-2005 11:06 AM

I was just gonna link you, but you already commented. :)

Zappa 03-20-2005 11:48 AM

Nick Cave's two new ones are playing this morning.

pixiesfanyo 03-20-2005 11:58 AM

Blood Brothers - Burn Piano Island Burn

pixiesfanyo 03-20-2005 01:36 PM

Maroon 5 seem like a band that I'd go see live.

But I'll never buy their record.

They are enjoyable.

DilutedLed 03-20-2005 03:11 PM

Pretty much sums up how I feel about them.

I'm digging me some Kraftwerk, since I downloaded both Computer World and Trans-Europa Express today. Thanks to Zappa for the latter of the two.

the bloc party and the black keys
going to see ...trail of dead in may! they're playing with international noise conspiracy. Pitchforkmedia is not kind to the latter, does anyone like them? (or could possibly recommend songs?)

Ornery Cephalopod 03-20-2005 05:40 PM

The other day I bought:

The Olivia Tremor Control - Dusk at Cubist Castle
The Pixies - Doolittle
The Broken Social Scene - You Forgot It In People
The Mogwai - Happy Songs for Happy People

Buy 3, get 1 free sale at Borders. Rock on Borders, I was planning on buying 3 before I even got there. They didn't have anything else I wanted in stock, so I got some Pixies on a whim. I'm only sort of diggin' that, but hey, it was free, and it's still fairly good.

I wish all my purchases were that good.

I went on a downloading spree today on slsk. Artists include:

Red Sparowes
LCD Soundystem
Camera Obscura
Bonnie "Prince" Billy
Black Mountain

Plus, yesterday I bought the Decline of British Seapower and Frances the Mute.

Robert Crumb 03-20-2005 05:47 PM

Terry Callier, Grant Green and a little Air this afternoon. I'm very relaxed.

The (International) Noise Conspiracy are awesome live. One of the best live bands I've seen. Survival Sickness is a brilliant album too.

My girlfriend went and saw them with John Mayer. She said that the only guys there, looked like they were either dragged along by their girlfriends, or gay.

...You phag.

Maybe he meant that he'd like to see them live because he would be fulfilling the nookie-implied wish of a significant other (gender not specified).

Changing quotes is fun.

Luxor 03-20-2005 08:54 PM

Heh, I like beans.

On another note, I listened to "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea" two times today. I take back all my previous comments about how much Neutral Milk Hotel suck and/or blow. It's a good album.

Ornery Cephalopod 03-20-2005 09:44 PM

"I Love Beans" by Brak is one of the world's greatest songs ever.

This is not open to debate.

I haven't listened to Survival Sickness yet but A New Morning, Changing Weather is kickarse. I like Dennis Lyxzen's vocals back in Refused though, he seems to be holding back in TINC.

Today I listened to

Dalek - Absence
Magazine - Real Life
Minor Threat - Complete Discography

I dunno, it would have to compete with his own "Driving Down Highway 40."

The music from the Godfather.

Beck's Guero

It's been a very enjoyable release... good mixture of styles and experimentation. A very strong and stable release

I Love You but I've Chosen Darkness

Pretty cool band (I think the name may be cooler than the band, however). Some nice stuff, though.
Carnival in Coal = Disco pop + extreme metal
Ooooh! Sounds like fun. Dog Fashion Disco is a little like that too, although more on the "Mr. Bungle meets carnival music" side as well.

Bartender 03-21-2005 09:33 PM

I think I've heard "Yes, We Have No Bananas" by Carnival in Coal. It was..interesting.

I've mostly been listening to Conflict - The Ungovernable Force today.

Wanker 03-21-2005 09:36 PM

Listening to a bunch of Nick Drake today. I listened to some Arcade Fire and Death From Above 1979. I didn't like the latter as much as the former.
