I think the bass work on Failing Flailing is top-notch
Yeah me too. I love it when it follows the drums roll then goes right to some cool scale at the end of it.

Well with this album I only remember 2 or 3 parts right now where the bass is awesome but I still haven't payed too much attention. I'm still listening to the album as a whole.

Teferet 11-04-2007 06:50 PM

I personally love the new album as much as EGN, but then again I play guitar which has remained more or less the same between both albums.

Flagjacket 11-04-2007 06:54 PM

I really don't think that what instrument you guys play should carry that much weight with how much you like an album. After all, albums are meant to be appreciated as a whole not by individual instruments.

Unless you're White with hair down to your shoulders then you only listen to Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.

Henrik 11-05-2007 08:44 AM

Thank you Doug.

But as far as I remember, Jamie Egan was on the recording for the new Keasbey Nights, even though he had already quit touring.
I wondered if any of the old members like Jamie or maybe Dan Ross were on the new album even though they don't tour anymore.

Liebensaft 11-05-2007 09:45 AM

I heard that Jimmy Hoffa plays sax on one of the songs.

I guess this in part was directed to me. I was not judging the album because of the bass work. I was judging the bass work in the album because of the bass work (ah, the redundance) which is different. I really don't care if the bass is good or not as long as the song or the album is, the only difference is I won't like to play it that much.

I preffer playing Streetlight on bass than let's say Propagandhi any day but I totally love both bands.

Transient 11-09-2007 02:45 AM

Album was on sale at the New Jersey show tonight. Did anyone go?

obese_breasts 11-09-2007 03:22 AM

maybe Ry Ry went, probably not though

Transient 11-09-2007 03:27 AM

By Ry Ry you mean IsItLuck? right?

obese_breasts 11-09-2007 03:36 AM

no I mean Reiner

Transient 11-09-2007 03:53 AM

oic

Because IsItLuck? probably went as well.

Lucky bastards.

SkaRobotArmy 11-11-2007 12:09 PM
Two Days.
for what?

Time 11-11-2007 03:30 PM

I just heard We Will Fall Together and it was really good, I've decided not to download it and just buy it when it comes out (I'll take everyone's word that it's amazing)

Henrik 11-11-2007 04:20 PM

I've got an e-mail from Interpunk that says that my copy is already on it's way to my hands. I just really hope that it'll make to the relase date.

SkaRobotArmy 11-13-2007 10:49 AM

don't get your hopes up everyone, canadian release date is next week apparently, FML.

Kithkin 11-14-2007 10:40 PM

I bought it at their show.

Suburban Legends got their van, equipment and merch stolen outside of philly, so they didn't play.

I forgot that The Stitch Ups were fronted by Mu330's Dan Potthast, so getting a few Mu330 songs was a nice surprise. He's a great frontman, but he has a lot of trouble catching energy in recordings. I bought their album too, but it isn't nearly as good as their live show.

asdf 11-14-2007 11:10 PM

Who are these bastards that keep stealing ska band's equiptment?

Catchthe22 11-14-2007 11:44 PM

my guess is it wasnt a straight out stolen van. It probably was just someone they kind of knew running away with their stuff.

Time 11-15-2007 02:24 PM

It absolutely ****ing kills me that a bunch of my friends are seeing them tomorrow and I'm not going. :(

Henrik 11-15-2007 03:51 PM

My copy hasn't arrived yet, even though i preordered it 2 months before the release date.

It better come tomorrow. I haven't heard it yet.
Streetlight Manefesto Is Awsome
this has the makings of a great post.

The best part is that the post was clearly meant to be in all capital letters.

what a douche.

albert_bass 11-16-2007 12:32 PM

You can't like ska and hate that album and you shouldn't review an album if you hate the genre so yeah that review is complete BS.

Men there's so much wrong with that review that guy should be ashamed of breathing.

Aficionado 11-16-2007 12:42 PM

I didn't even read the review, I read the summary and I needn't read further. What a juvenile idiot.

"his vocals are essentially a punkier version of Modest Mouse’s Issac Brooks"

Music reviewers should at least attempt to get musician's names correct. It's Issac Brock.

TakeWarning 11-16-2007 08:29 PM

That was one of the worst reviews I've ever read. Probably the worst in fact.

His argument loses most of its credibility when he criticises the grammar of the band name and album name.

Flagjacket 11-16-2007 09:30 PM

Reviews are never good.
