Ok, ill rephrase what I said.

Would Lang feel more comfortable doing his thing on a Sonor or 4002.

My guess is the Sonor, disregarding the fact hes been using them for years.

To be honest..

After 15 seconds he prob would forget what pedal his feet were on. That is the case with most players of profeciency.

While I don't play like Lang, it doesn't matter to me. My personal choice is that, and sure it's nice to have the secruity of mind that your equipment is yours, you know it, it won't break, etc..

But I sit down on all kinds of sets, with all kinds of pedals and different settings. I just play, I don't bother to think about "Oh this pedal feels a lil rougher". It just doesn't really matter.

Jezen 08-10-2005 10:31 AM

Your not helping. Your basically saying I shouldn't feel a difference between a PDP 402 and a DW 9002.

poppinfresh 08-10-2005 10:33 AM

no hes saying that you should be able to play the smae things on all kinds of pedals. like the way you can play the same rudiments at the same speeds on all snares. hes saying its in the feet not the pedal. I think lang made a good point of this at his clinic.

Josiah 08-10-2005 10:35 AM

^Exactly

You should never need a particular model pedal to help you play better.

Most of the reason for buying high end pedals is reliability. All that crap about bearings, smoothness, adjustablity.. that's the minor issues releated to purchase. Most companies however realize, and market towards the "medium and lower" drummers who are unaware or have not realized, or simply have not progressed in their drumming maturity to understand that the equipment really doesn't matter that much.

I know! Omfg.

My pedal is not restricting me from playing to my ability, I just want one that is more comfortable!

I know what you're saying, but I can definitely say that I play much better on my Tama IC then say: a tapa HP10, or a low line pearl or yamaha pedal. Maybe just my technique isn't good enough yet, but thats what I've found.

poppinfresh 08-10-2005 10:38 AM

Hello Mason,

Thanks for choosing Tama!! Without actually seeing/evaluating your pedal, it is hard to say if the problem warrants replacement or repair. What we recommend is calling our customer service dept. to receive a Return Authorization Number in order to send your pedal back to our facilites. Here, we can repair or replace any defective parts under warranty (as long as your pedal is still under the 1-year factory warranty period).
You can reach our customer service department @ 1-800-669-4226 and choose option #3 for sales and service. NOTE: Do not send anything back to Tama without a Return Authorization Number.

Thanks
Customer Service

poppinfresh 08-10-2005 10:39 AM

i can play better on a pacific piece o crap double pedal than on my iron cobras. i can play cleaner and a lot more precisly.

stabbinspaghetti 08-10-2005 10:41 AM

why doesnt everyone just stop arguing over something pointless.....i say go for the sonor....if it feels more comfy, then get it, its all personal pref

Well then nobody here can help you with that. That's a personal choice that changes with everybody. You'll just have to try out different pedals and choose the one you find most comfertable.

Personally, "comfort" is one of the few words I would associate with a kick pedal myself..

Poppin hahaha... HAHAHAHA Welcome to Tama Customer Service. Or lack there of.

Yeah.. you might as well get a new pedal instead of dealing with Tama...I've heard stories.

And I'm sure it would be a success until people realise you are stating the obvious....
But, by that time, you would have run off with all their money (you will have charged large amounts of money for each prediction), changed your name, and may possibly start the procss over again....

stabbinspaghetti 08-10-2005 11:32 AM

ahh!! yeah and they try to speak english

"you no like pedal?" "wrong with it, what?" "i dun stand"
