I like Disciple:)
But, Im not your typical slayer fan:p |
By the looks of things, it's the dedicated fans that hate it, and the more casual listeners that like it. I used to be a hardcore listener, rocking the fuck out in my leathers thinking I was Jeff, and even then I liked it.
|
haha, Jeff.
My favorite is chemical warfare though. |

Er, i'm a very dedicated Slayer fan. In a way i'm more dedicated than the people who don't like GHUA. |
I'm not pointing at specific people so it's nothing personal, it's just something I've came across from most people in this thread, at least, I think it's pretty much how it goes. Eh.
haha, Jeff.
 You don't like Jeff? |
Haha, Butcher. Tom is gonna come out and his voice is gonna get fucked up, then he's gonna have to have that 'Jamie' guy from Hatebreed to come out and do the rest of his set-list. That seriously happened. Like a year or so ago, Tom was having vocal problems, and he was preforming SOH, and he couldn't finish, so they got the lead singer of Hatebreed to come out and do it.
|
Hey, that's not nessessary. :(
But yeah I do like those songs, but I'm not saying Angel of Death, War Ensemble etc etc aren't good, but since you're all talking about it I thought I'd let you all know I like a few off of it. Also, the production makes it sound better than Show No Mercy, and I do like the heaviness from the tuned down guitars too. The lyrics don't really concern me as much as the music.
I'm just messing around with you. But yeah, lyrics usually don't annoy me, but Kerry did some terrible lyrics for that album, and it just annoyed me. I'd be pissed if he did that, I might even feel the urge to boo. |

 You don't like Jeff?
Ahh, I haha'd because I remembered a story he told on the DVD. And those kids mocking what Jeff does when hes onstage. |
Oh right. Yeah Jeff is cool. Especially when I saw them last year, my friend put me on his shoulders and I gave him the \m/, he looked right at me then carried on headbanging when I got down, amazing!
He's definately an inspiration to my image, his hair is straight (hate curls) and his knee pad things are awesome. He just looks badass overall. Fukk, I'm going to go get my Slayer cd. |

After seeing the picture of them, they for sure are. They're very small ones though (I played baseball, and I caught for my team). Normal ones are a little looser and are better fitting, his are tight and are very small.
|
That's cool, cheers.

Hahaha. Dude your avatar is so funny. It actually made me laugh out loud. |
Yeah, the first time I saw it I laughed out too.
I've had an urge for about 2 days to watch the Still Reigning DVD. But I never get around to it. |
It's a really good video. Way too short though. They had a pretty good interview, but the only bad thing was when they had like two girls flash the camera and they were both pretty fat and pretty ugly.
|
Man, I don't remember that. And I don't want to see that.
|
Yeah you won't want to. One of them has her nipple's pierced. So I guess only fat girls like Slayer. :(
|
I can't wait until we found out the set list for the Unholly alliance tour.
|
I'm pretty sure that the set list will be different at each venue. I just hope they play at least one song off of Hell Awaits.
|

He wears them because he loves baseball, but they don't wear the team shirts anymore because it doesn't really fit the mood. So by wearing the shin gurads, he's still showing his liking of the sport. |

That would be awesome if they played the title track or Praise of Death, as those are my two favorite songs off the album. I'd also love for them to play Postmortem. |
I'm pretty sure they'll play Postmortem.
|
I'm pretty sure they'll play Postmortem.
Well I'm not very familiar with Slayer's setlists, so I'm just hoping that they would play it. I know that they'll play South of Heaven, which will probably be the highlight of the show for me. |
Angel of Death, Raining Blood, Postmortem, and South of Heaven are most likely going to be on every setlist. But when my buddy saw them about 2 years ago at Ozzfest, or whenever they were at ozzfest, he said Slayer didn't play Angel of Death.

That seems like a crime against all things metal. I'm going to be truly bummed out if they don't play Angel of Death when I see them. I bet that they will, though. |
Yeah, I'm sure that's a rare thing.
|
Do you know how many songs they usually play from Seasons in the Abyss? I'd also really like to hear War Enesmble, Spirit in Black, Expendable Youth, and the title track.
|
When I saw them, they played Seasons in the Abyss and War Ensemble. Possibly one or two more from that album, but my memory of the setlist is bad nowadays. All I can remember them playing was:
Disciple Stain of Mind Mandatory Suicide Angel of Death Postmortem Chemical Warfare Raining Blood Seasons in the Abyss War Ensemble |
They'll definetly play War ensemble , Angel of Death, Post mortem, Raining blood, and probably Hell awaits, Chemical warfare and Dead skin Mask, south of heaven. Other likely's are Disciple, Mandatory suicide, Stain of mind, Captor of sin or something else off Show no mercy. Then they'll be the new stuff, and other random songs like Bloodline or Necrophiliac.
|
Dude, SimonCore, thank you! They did play Dead Skin Mask. I remember because Tom was doing the whole:
"Dance with dead in my...." *crowd shouts back* "Dreams!" If they played Necrophiliac, I'd be an extremely happy fan. |
