Hey ppls just bought Dark Side of the Moon on impulse coz u Floyd fans are always saying how good it is... (not that I don't like Floyd, just haven't heard much by them yet) but when I stuck it in my CD player I found that there were only 9 tracks. Now on the track listing on the CD I found there were 10 tracks but one song thats mentioned in the booklet (breathe - reprise) is not on this listing so I guess maybe there should even be 11 tracks. On lyrics sites there are no lyrics for 'On the Run' and 'Any colour you like' - are these instrumentals that have just been stuck on to the end of the previous song (or the start of the next song) and not given their own track?
Are my CD players really only meant to think that the CD has 9 tracks, or have I been 'ripped off'? (actually, the CD was half price that day so I suppose its not really a rip off if I only get 9 out of 10 or 11 tracks but still, I would like to hear them all...) |

Breath Reprise is at the end of Time, its not a seperate song, it just fades in. There should only be 10, in your case 9. You have the whole cd. |
I have the Wall Bootleg.... But it's a lrage file and the quality is ****ty.
BTW After one hour, Live in Venice failed uploading...DAMMIT |
Oh yeah, on the official Pink Floyd site, there's a link from the Echoes website to a video player, and there's a one hour documntary on the Wall there, with a lot of good tour footage from the concert.
|
Yea my friend downloaded them playing Comfertably Numb from one of the Wall concerts. It was cool to see Gilmour playing that on top of the wall :thumb:.
|
Yeah, I just got PULSE and I think its great. Lots of nice flowing guitar effects.
|
Pulse is pretty good. I still prefer Meddle over any Floyd album. Even DSOTM. :)
Yea but since Meddle man has yet to create somthing as perfect. |
how many times has floyd changed singers?
|
how many times has floyd changed singers?
Well Syd Barrett sang on I think all the tracks on Piper, and only one on Saucerful of Secrets. Then Waters and Gilmour sung most songs, then Waters left and I think Gilmour sung them all. |
**** they changed 3 times?
|
**** they changed 3 times?
You can say that. The only member who was with them the whole way through was Nick Mason. All the others either quit, got fired or joined late. |

Nick Mason was a session musician for the making of Momentary Lapse of Reason. Rick Wright was the only one all the way through. |

Rick wasnt there for The Final Cut. Nick was still in the band during MloR, he just didnt contribute much. |
I just realized, the guy who did the Animals, Momentary Lapse of Reason, Division Bell, Pulse and Wish You Were Here album covers did The Mars Volta's album covers too. Nifty.
|
What album's (or Live Shows) did Mason sing on? I have a very faint memory but I can't remember.

He did say the line-"one of these days I'm going to cut you into pieces" |

Rick was kicked out after The Wall came out, and toured as a session musician. Nick was in the band from the start to the end without leaving. |
It shows Rick singing Echoes on Live in Pompeii.

To bad all they show is Mason and a little of Dave.... :upset: |

He sang the intro bit on One of These Days, and then he also sang on one song on Ummagumma... I forgot the track name.. |
Nick Mason only says the line on One Of These Days. He doesn't sing at all. He's only credited for drums/percussion and sounds/tape effects.
|
You know everybody always says One of These Days is Waters most underrated bass line, but you know I think Let There be More Light is. I mean One of These Days is great, but so many people forget about the other one.
|
My favorite bass line is probably the one in Hey You. It just kicks ***.

It wasnt Roger's though, David is the one that played it. |
Really? He played the Bass on it? He's pwntastic! (even more than he already was)
|
From what I have seen on the Making of Dark Side DVD, it looks like Roger is really just a guitarist who has to play bass... I'm just assuming of course, correct me if I'm wrong.

More like a songwriter that has to play bass. |
Ok, I want some clarification. I thought I could play Hey You correctly, then last night I was talking to Vince (Zepfan) and he said tha you need a capo to play Hey You or it is nearly impossible. It sounds good when I play it following the powertab </will insert link here> but he sent me a link to the version on mxtabs, which said you needed a capo. Can I get some help here?
Wow, I haven't posted in here since forever guys. Sup, |
the powertab I had didnt use a capo
|
That's what I'm saying. Check out the mxtabs version of it though. Do you use the powertabs' version as well?
