Thanks Tim.

So Time what is the first Dungeon album I should purchase.

Lord Abortion 10-11-2005 05:07 AM

Somewhere far beyond is a classic album, very different to ANATO, I just got Imagnations from the other side and it's excellent, I can't begin to describe how good a Script for my requiem is...

INHUMAN RAMPAGE - BRAND NEW ALBUM

Following a hugely successful summer and autumn, during which the 18 month campaign in support of their Sonic Firestorm album has seen them wowing festival crowds around Europe before returning to the UK to play yet another sell out tour, London based metallists DRAGONFORCE have just completed work on their eagerly anticipated third album.

Inhuman Rampage contains eight brand new songs and will be released on 9th January 2006. The album recording sessions were made at Thin Ice Studios in Virginia Water (Surrey) and guitarist Herman Li's own studio in West London between April and September, while production duties were shared between Li, fellow axeman Sam Totman and keyboard player Vadim Pruzhanov.

When asked to comment on the new album, Li stated:
“On the new album we have come up with the ultimate formula that has never been done before. Combining intensity, chaos and melody, with all the DragonForce trademarks plus some more. For us, this is the next evolution in DragonForce's sound. I have never heard an album sounding like ‘Inhuman Rampage'....the title says it all! It's seriously gonna blow some heads off around the world next year.”

The full tracklisting of Inhuman Rampage is as follows:-
1. Through the Fire and Flames
2. Revolution Deathsquad
3. Storming the Burning Fields
4. Operation Ground and Pound
5. Body Breakdown
6. Cry for Eternity
7. The Flame of Youth
8. Trail of Broken Hearts

The album will be released on CD and picture vinyl, with the CD featuring an enhanced section and other surprise goodies....

Herman Li and Vadim Pruzhanov will undertake a 2 week tour of Continetal Europe to promote the January 9th release of 'Inhuman Rampage' and will visit the following cities:
October Monday 17th - Brussels / Tuesday 18th - Athens / Wednesday 19th Berlin / Thursday 20th Stockholm / Friday 21st - Helsinki / Saturday 22nd - Cologne / Sunday 23rd - Cologne / Monday 23rd - Dortmund / Tuesday 25th - Paris / Wednesday 26th - Milan / Thursday 27th - Barcelona / Friday 28th - Stuttgart & Munich.[/QUOTE]

Get Ressurrection. It's awesome, and shows a lot of Dungeon's Maiden influence. Plus I reviewed it the other week. :D

I had no idea. Someone should go and correct me, whilst rating the album because my rating was a little conservative :amaze:

Lord Abortion 10-12-2005 06:36 AM

I quite like the wasted years cover on A rise to power, which is odd for me, as I generally take badly to maiden covers, unless something massively good is done to them (like Cradle of filth's Hallowed be thy name cover)

shadow_stalker 10-13-2005 12:33 PM

One song into the 'one step beyond' album, its pretty **** good.

also Lord Tim if you see this, do any of you guys perhaps read the Dragonlance books?

Lord Tim 10-13-2005 01:23 PM

Indeed! The Legend Of Huma from the Resurrection album was based on the novel by Richard A Knaak and Netherlife (Black Roses Die) from A Rise To Power was based on Lord Soth from the first 6 books (which has a lot of background info from the Ravenloft novel Knight Of The Black Rose).

I'm a BIG fan of Weis and Hickman especially! :)

Lord Abortion 10-13-2005 03:15 PM

Speaking of literary influence, I realised recently, for those who didn't read my earlier post, that Blind guardian's "somewhere far beyond" has, infuriatingly been influenced by Stephen King's Dark tower series, which I am still in the process of writing my own song based on, and was before I actually read the lyrics booklet to that album.

Bah.

Iron Bars 10-13-2005 04:03 PM

King's Dark Tower seems to be an inspiration to a lot of songwriters lately. But Hansi is a bit on the overdose side of it with Blind Guardian and Demons and Wizards having songs about it.

Great books though. I just finished the last one.
