Has anyone heard the live anniversary version of "My Back Pages"; featuring Roger Mcguinn, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Neil Young and Eric Clapton?
Yes, that version rocks!

Illmatic 04-26-2005 04:03 PM

Anyone heard "Standing in the Doorway" by Bob Dylan?

The first few stanzas, I think, could be written by a man about his absentee father. Then the last few stanzas give it away.

Leper 04-26-2005 04:11 PM

i need help in putting a artist, and title to a song i heard on the radio today. One of the opening lines went something like this: "I sit alone waiting for your call.."..that might not've been it exactly, but it was something similar..anyone recognize it?

Badmoon 04-26-2005 04:40 PM

Describe their sound.

Guess: The Cars

MalcolmYoungRock 04-26-2005 04:44 PM

I'd hate to bring up another "Anyone heard..." but has anyone heard the cover of "Across the Universe" by Bowie.

Don't.

Well, download it if you want a laugh.

Leper 04-26-2005 04:45 PM

umm well the vocals kinda sounded like between iron maiden and supertramp..i don't mean the style, i just mean the sound of the voice...started out with a softer guitar riff and then eventually evolved to a heavier riff as the song progressed...that's all i can really think of.

So, I have a question about Highway 61 Revisited for people who are well-aquainted with said album, for I am consifering purchasing it. For someone (me) who the only track off of it they've heard is "Like A Rolling Stone," how would you describe the rest of the album? Does it sound the same throughout, change around a lot, etc., etc.? Feedback would be excellent.

lunch998 04-26-2005 05:44 PM

I'll admit I never listened to it that carefully, but I was in your position and I love the album. It's reguarded as one of the better classic rock albums.

I would say most of the other tracks sound similar to "Like a Rolling Stone".

Speaking of Dylan, I got "Bringing It All Back Home" today.

Distant Echoes 04-26-2005 06:01 PM

Our station was having a Dylan givaway this weekend. I was two callers from the 12th (winning call).

Two weeks away and i still have nothing useful to say :upset:

NP: Hot Lanta

Yea but...
1. You made a rhyme

Seems like a good post to me.

There may be two songs I like on that album, the rest is nothing special to me. However, most people like it. I just don't see what is so great about it.

guitar_drew 04-26-2005 06:31 PM

I definetly think classic rock is gettin more popular with teenagers i mean i love it and im 12 years old so definetly.zeppilen and clapton RULE!

Woodstock 04-26-2005 06:35 PM

Like A Rolling Stone is somewhat different to the rest of the album. You could say it's the best song, but the rest of the album has a different feel to it, so it's hard to compare. But overall, it's a great album.

I've been meaning to cheak out some of Alice Coopers stuff, I heard his guitarist is the reason Randy Rhoads made the switch from classical to rock (though he kept some of the classical).

Yea, he had a pretty tight band of musicians. Check out the albums Love It To Death and Goes To Hell.
