Some fighting games are okay...I liked the two Soul Caliber games, at least. I don't like the fighting games where you have to mash buttons to do a half-decent attack.

one of the best games i played (and were from an 'Indie'-label) was 'schleichfahrt'... i played the game 4x till the end. it is the pre-sequel for AquaNox which was released 2002 and Schleichfahrt was from 1998 or even 1996. :D

I'm a huge gamer as well. Lately I've been into those third-person half strategy half hack n' slash (Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, Manhunt). The only FPS that I really started to love was Timesplitters 2.

I played LOD...Necromancers are my favorite character. They rock. The highest I got was to level 90.

Mortal Kombat was a classic. I loved the cheesey violence. Probably the best fighting game of that type, but Soul Calibur and Tekken are good too.

wow... lvl90... my highest char was a sorc some 3years ago, right after the release of LoD. i had only a 56.k modem and i wasn't allowed to play through the internet, therefore i played singleplayer and got the sorc until lvl 74 in hell :D
had to do all quest alone!!

but i don't like to play LoD.. its lame.. Classic has the atmosphere of the old game :D

So Mortal Kombat is good because it takes little skill aside from hitting buttons, and then makes up for being all around ****ty by adding senseless mutilation?

Street Fighter is the real mans game, so much harder to master, and so much more fun.

Mortal Kombat was by no means an easy game. The later ones, at least. The early ones were all shock value but once they started adding multiple fighting styles and weapons it became a very challenging game to get good at.

I LOVE STARCRAFT;
but i never got good at playing through the battlenet...i always lost :upset: so i quit... but the campagne was amazing.
when starcraft 2 will be released it will be a reason to upgrade/to buy a new computer

Ah, the 3D Mortal Kombats... I was talking 2D fighters, the newer MK's are quite good.

Starcraft 2 is a long, long, long, long, long ways away. Battle.net was so hard, but I loved playing Starcraft. :eek: We should all play a battle.net game together!

In terms of 2D, yes, Street Fighter was definitely superior.

They've supposedly been working on SCII for like..... 5-6 years now, it's gonna fricken pwn.

And yes, SF is lord of 2d Fighters, and SFAII is the best of all, IMO.

I bought the Starcraft Battle Chest too. :) But when I bought it it was brand new, so it cost me $50. I still think it's a better game than WCIII, even though WCIII is more fun online.

anyway, someone was watching SC-games in Seoul?? on the world cyber games... my favourits Sc-players were Kalaschni (great Zerg Player from russia) and [PG]Fisheye who is from german
once i saw the best play i can remember on Lost Temple -> kalaschni (zerg - the best zerg player) fisheye (protoss) and both were the best player in the species the played on the whole world during the match.

edit: there are rumours that the next game from blizzard will be starcraft 2

You got ripped off dude, I got SC for 5 bucks at EB like 4 years ago and then Broodwars for 7, so... 12 bucks > 17 bucks.

And I'd have to disagree, WC3 > SC mostly because SC got ruined by the fast money maps and such, WC3 has a much better Ladder System too, plus the gameplay is just overall a better style [as if Blizz is progressively becoming a better company]. Plus, I love how they married RTRPG's with RTS's with the hero units..... God.... I love using heroes to basically counter act the melee deficiencies of the Night Elves [I always get the KOTG, Beast Master, and Dark Ranger].

So does anyone play those Everquest games? I see a lot of them, and they're cheap, but what games are they like?

And is Diablo II at all like Starcraft? I know they're both made by Blizzard, and their artwork is similiar. :shrug:

The races and heroes of WCIII were amazing, but the rest of the game paled in comparison to Starcraft. SC had a higher food limit, larger tech tree, and more units and upgrades. SC was about building up an army and combining units whereas WCIII is all about heroes.

Yeah, those guys were [still are?] quite epic.... still nothing can compare to t4k3r and [tk]blue crush's like 5 game 1v1 spree for number 1 in Europe on WC3, you can download all the matches on wcreplays.com, basically, t4k3r hands blue crush's *** to him using towers only.... he freaking creeps with towers.... and he doesn't tower rush.... he tower attacks... and harasses... it's insane how good he is with a few Peons and a Far Seer.
