I just played a gig in the Durham Gala Theater with the Durham County Big Band, and also with this man:

That's Steve Waterman. He's one of the best trumpet players in the world apparently..

Great work man, I really am trying to build my jazz chops lately.
sup guys? Jo, i've decided on beechies for my next kit. thought you'd like to know ;)
Awesome! I'mglad to hear that. Great drums to play and have. I love how because so few people have them, people really catch the sound cause it's a lil different.

fishbulb 06-11-2006 11:11 AM

Wow, i did a LOT yesterday. My friend went to go pick up some surfboards at his dad's house and he said that he passed by a garage sale selling pearl set for $150. He didn't know what type it was, but he was going to buy it but he didn't have enough money at the time. Then when he went by it when he did have money somebody was loading it into the back of his van. Then I went to the beach, not too exciting, but fun. Then my friends and i made a beer bong but we only used soda because we didn't have any booze. Then i went bowling and made rootbeer floats. Fun stuff.

Berk 06-11-2006 11:30 AM

I hate floats..
But sounds fun...

I need serious imput on this...
The Ppd FXR on Musician Friend is all the way down at 399.00$ (It's started at 600.00$) witch is 443.00$ in Canadian currency. And I think Shipping is free...Because It's over 300.00$ But I have to add 9.99$ because It's shipping to Canada...
Is this a good deal?

Corkofski 06-11-2006 11:44 AM

ive just ben put in charge of splitting 100+ 11-16 yr olds into 6 groups, making sure that none of them will kill each other...

hell yea

Janeway 06-11-2006 11:47 AM

I'm writing my health final.
About meditation.

Boring.

Sunshine 06-11-2006 11:50 AM

Mention how if you meditate hard enough, you can float.

And work the word "hardcore" into it.

I dunno, that always cheers me up when I have to take boring tests =/

Berk 06-11-2006 11:55 AM

xcrazyxhardcorexmeditationxcrazyx.

Sunshine 06-11-2006 11:57 AM

It doesn't work outside of test-taking.

My mom's still mad at me for actually writing "hardcore" into a legitamate sentence on the SAT.

Seems good, but i know nothing about pdp's lines.

Janeway 06-11-2006 11:58 AM

I think I might do that float thing.

"Finally, the most superlative benefit of meditation, is that once a hardcore concentration is attained, the ability to float is accomplished."

Sunshine 06-11-2006 12:01 PM

Hahaha.

If I was a teacher, I'd have to pass the student who wrote that. But then, perhaps I'm just slightly biased.

Ignore the crappy drawing, i have no talent at it. But thats basically what my tattoos gonna look like

Josiah 06-11-2006 12:09 PM

Interesting.. there is a guy down the street with that nearly identical thing as an arm band. Wrapped around his arm with the flames going up that is..

Sunshine 06-11-2006 12:11 PM

Make sure you get all the white space filled in with white ink.

'Cause otherwise the lines are going to blur and you'll have a big shapeless blob on your arm.

I mean, eventually you probably will anyway, but having the white to hold the color in place makes the general picture last longer.

Janeway 06-11-2006 12:12 PM

The flames made me giggle.

haha! Nice. that's almost as good as my deer story.

Sunshine 06-11-2006 12:17 PM

See.

Things like that always make essays better.

Janeway 06-11-2006 12:20 PM

I want to do something like the deer story, but I'm too afraid to fail.

But now I'm fighting the urge to use hardcore more than once.
o.<

Sunshine 06-11-2006 12:21 PM

Hmm...come up with some other fun thing instead?

Unfortunantly, I don't see how you could use "mass chaos" in an essay about meditation, else I'd suggest that.

Unless you say like.

"Without meditation, your brain gets overloaded and goes into a state of mass chaos."

But prettier.

Futuro 06-11-2006 12:22 PM

Anyway I have a tat, it is a 6 armed female gypsy, sitting with her legs crossed, playing a bansuri, with colors reminiscent of early Krishna drawings.

My avatar is a 2 armed male representation

Ming-a-Ling 06-11-2006 12:23 PM

Yeah, it's a little late in the year to risk testing your teachers sense of humor. I think the hardcore floating meditation will suffice.

Sunshine 06-11-2006 12:24 PM

My dad has like 5 tattoos, and he's not done yet.

1 full color, full-length tatto on each shoulder blade, one of the grim reaper and one of a flaming dragon, the chaos symbol in the very center of his spine, a track bike on one forearm and the suicide king of hearts with a skull's head on the other forearm.

Then my mom has one, on her thigh, of black and blue flowers.

And they say I can't get a tattoo, not that I'd want one anyway.

Ouch...that would hurt.

I'm going to get a tattoo toward the end of the month.

Sunshine 06-11-2006 12:28 PM

Haha, I settle for piercings.

Only in the ears though. I'm horribly pain intolerant ><

Not to mention, no matter how cool the tattoo was, I know myself well enough to know I'd be sick of it in less than 6 months.

maniac0796 06-11-2006 12:30 PM

Anyone else getting pissed off by the world cup. I like it in itself, i just don't like the way the media make such a big thing of it. I don't care if wayne rooney can't kick a fecking ball. He can lie in hospital and get obese for all i care, he's still making £xxxK a day....

Meh, media suck. I also hate seeing an england flag on every ford transit, and seeing fat crusty men with their bellies haning out a skin tight england shirt, whilst eating ice cream... eughhhh

Sunshine 06-11-2006 12:32 PM

Hey, its just as bad when Lance Armstrong kept winning the Tour de France.

Fat Americans went out and bought the tight biking clothing and bikes and road them for like a month after it ended.

I mean, it's good that they're getting exercise [I can't stand the majority of my country, and therefore I refer to the inhabitants as "they"], but...do they have to wear the tight bike racing clothing?

Janeway 06-11-2006 12:33 PM

My dad has a wolf howling at the moon on his upper right arm, and a Harley Davidson eagle on his other arm.
My mom has a band of thorned roses going around her left wrist, and a small rose with a feather coming off it on her forearm. Then she's got a massive dream catcher type thing on her right calf that I haven't seen in a while because she always wears jeans.

Bleh.
I want a tattoo, but I can't decide where to get it.
I'm probably going to just get a small celtic ring on one of my fingers so that it can be covered up easily until I get a steady job. Either that or something on the pads of my feet.
I have ugly feet though.

Sunshine 06-11-2006 12:35 PM

The pads of your feed would probably hurt like hell.

But I heard that another reallyreallyreally hardcore BAD place to get it was 'round your collar and neck and junk. Like, worse than the spine and stuff.

Ming-a-Ling 06-11-2006 12:39 PM

I have my ears pierced right now. I'm planning getting them gauged down to about a 12 or 14 pretty soon. My wife desperatly wants me to pierce my lip. But I don't think I'm going to. Craziest peircing I'd probably get would be an industrial. But I haven't put too much thought in it.

I'm sorta like that too, but I think with what I want to get I won't get tired of it since it's more for personal reasons then for aesthetic reasons.

Try living in Austin where that douche is from. We have those little fruits in their tight bike suits all over the place. I've almost been in so many wrecks because of them.

Janeway 06-11-2006 12:40 PM

Yeah. Anywhere that's really bony is apparently pretty bad.

But I don't think my feet would be so bad, so long as it's in the calloused area. The arches would kill.

Yeah, and alot of bikers are so goddamn stupid about cars, I mean, they constantly ride their bikes on small roads with no shoulder (no small roads have shoulders around here) and expect people to not almost hit them every two seconds. I eman, we are supposed to share the road with em, but they should at least choose a better place to ride.

maniac0796 06-11-2006 01:00 PM

Hah, in denmark, cyclists have higher priority than cars or something like that. I cycled most places in a 5 mile radius. Get me leg muscles up and stuff.

Janeway 06-11-2006 01:01 PM

=/
I'm on the fourth page of my final essay.
And I'm stuck.
I don't want to describe a buttload of medical reasons why meditation is healthy, and I don't know if I should describe a basic meditation practice.

fishbulb 06-11-2006 01:02 PM
