Silmarillion is a great read, if you don't mind mythology style writing.
Tolkein's whole world is amazing.
The only thing Ive read thats worse then silmarillion is Grapes of Wrath. I love the whole universe and everything but 100s of pages of dates and events is not very entertaining in my mind. |
Man, music is always gonna exist.
It's been since the beggining, and it will be 'til the end. It's an art, a respected art. Musicians are the most respected members of society, and those that taught those musicians are on an even higher level of respect than their pupil. Of course, someone who teaches a bunch of fat kids with zits and tween mustaches who positively reek of stale urine and red bull how to make pixelated porn characters move in realistic motions is just SO much more respectable.
It's always so hard to tell if you know that I'm fucking with you or not. But animation has been around since the beginning too sister. Although it only recently started being in the mainstream in the 1910's, there is evidence of it tracing back to cave paintings from the prehistoric age. And if the students I teach are anything like the ones I went to school with, replace the "fat kids with zits and tween mustaches" with "smelly outcast anime freaks who draw nothing but anthro p0rn". But you can keep in that reek of stale urine and red bull part. |
I have to read Grapes of Wrath, too.
I'm not a big fan of Steinbeck. I ended up laughing hysterically several times during Of Mice and Men. |

I always know. Do I sound serious? Because I'm not, unless it's something personal about you. Then I mean it. |
Sometimes you do. And I wouldn't want to upset your already delicate ego. And if you're so serious about the personal things about me, at least get your facts straight. I dyed my pubes purple, and not only was the indian girl ugly, but fat as well.

good job setting things straight |
I just don't want you guys getting the wrong impression of me. I mean, who dyes their pubes pink???
|
I'm only on the second page. It's kind of hard to understand.
it is a difficult read. Right away you are introduced to a bunch of names that most likely you know absolutly nothing about, if you've only read the Lord of the Rings. I read through it, I understood some of it but not all of it, I had to read other books and websites to get the exact details down of what happened. |
uhhhh... I got all my wisdom teeth out on thursday, and me being scared to death of needles "Belonephobia" ...somehow the expert doctor fucked up on my first arm with the Iv and had to go to the other arm...ugh I was about ready to die...the operation was about 25 minutes long... and went home..and now I'm on hydrocodone and feel like im a Mile high...but doing constant backflips....but when I play drums I feel really creative...woot...thats it.
|
Ya, so my cuz just got a new Hhx Evolution China, he says it sounds wicked, judging by the sound of his evolution hats, it probably does haha. Also, new hi ahts get here tuesday or wenseday
|
you had IVs in your arm? I just went in, couple of shots in the gum, pulled out the teeth, i was fine.
|
Just watched City Of God. Fucking incredible movie, it was.
|
Yeah that movie is amazing. One of the best films IMO.
|
yeah, mine had to be cut out, because they hadn't surface yet
|
Ew, I absolutely HATE John Steinbeck.
I think the only thing worse than The Grapes of Wrath was The Red Pony...and those are the only 2 of his books I've ever read. Thank God English 101/102 don't stress reading of books, but poetry and short stories and easy crap. My stomach hurts. There were these potheads, and they reeked like HELL, and smelling them made my stomach hurt. Freaking weed =/ |
I'm mkaing a 8x7" acrylic snare.. it's goign to have a wrap finish. What should I go for?
Planning on tube lugs. |
Wow, if I wanted something acrylic, I'd keep the original transparent color for sure. That possibility is actually pretty much the only thing I really like about acrylic drums. Good choice on the tube lugs. Chrome? For wraps I'd definitely go with a sparkle. My favorites are white (actual white glitter), turquoise, and light orange. Are you keeping this drum for yourself?
|
Oh i agree, however the shells are actualyl shedcual 40 plastic.. so slightly different, but very ugly. Hence i need to wrap them. I'm making 2.. I may giveoen away if I don't screw it up (one for test)
|
You could always paint them too, but I don't know if you care enough to do that. Buying your wraps online?
|
Yea, I thought about it. Just not worth the effort.. haha. Prob just order some wrap online from whoever has what I want. It'll look decent at least. I got the shells for 50 cents each, so I can't really complain.Came with edges cut in em too.
prb just go with soem blue sparkle with the chrom tube lugs/rims |
yeah, mine had to be cut out, because they hadn't surface yet
same here. Actually, one was in, two were still inside the gums, and i didn't have a fourth. |
prb just go with soem blue sparkle with the chrom tube lugs/rims
Haha, Jim's favorite. |
I'm mkaing a 8x7" acrylic snare.. it's goign to have a wrap finish. What should I go for?
Planning on tube lugs.
Do they even make snare wires in 8" models? Green wrap (sparkle or some such), with gold hardware. |
Yo Gz!, haha jk. But ya, What do you guys think about the AA rock Crash????? worth 150$???? thanks
|
What size is it? I think that's about how much the 16" ones cost. If you have heard it and like it go for it I guess. If you haven't heard it, Rock varieties are generally thicker and you have to hit them harder to get a good sound out of them. I personally don't like them that much.
|
ya, its a 16" but you say you ahve to hit them hard to get a good sound out of them????damn lol, I play pretty lightly. but would crashing on it lightly still get a good sound would you say????
|
I've never played a AA rock crash, just lower level ones, like Pro and B8 Pro, but for those ones they didn't sound very good if you played them lightly, but sounded fine if you really layed into them. Since you sound like you haven't really played on a rock crash before, I'd try to make it a point to get to a store and try one out.
|
ya ahah don't worry I am trying it out before I buy it lol, but ya, A guy is offering me a used one (in excellent condition) for 150$ I figured snce the AA series isn't sold around here, maybe i should go for this, Also he says he has a pretty wicked Hi hat stand for only 50$ (Im waiting to find out what kind it is) but ya, I tihnk I might go for it. thanks. g2g c ya
