after living here since i was 10 the only thing i have observed that is different between american culture and english culture is that people are more polite in the UK than here (though in some of america, esp the south, everyone is polite or at least try to be), the slang is very different, the music is different, and there are no thousand year old buildings chilling out anywhere, the oldest buildings are from the 1600 and 1700s (not really cultural but it is part of heritage stuff) and everyone cares what nationality they descend from
