Hey guys. I was wondering, my schools musical tryouts are tommorrow and they have 1 bass posistion. Should I try out? The only problem is Im not too good at sight reading, and I need to play an upright bass, which Im okay at. Should I try out?

Can anyone tell me some upright brands to stay away from or look into? Im thinking of focusing more on upright in the near future.
